I was looking for an electric kettle to boil water for tea that had the heating element hidden from the water. I bought this one because of my experience with other Cuisinart products. This is an excellent coffee maker (good hot water) and suits our needs. No timer or bells and whistles required. It also has a narrow back which fits well into the corner under our cabinets - most coffee maker today are very broad and take up a lot of counter space. It does what a coffee maker is supposed to do - make very good coffee, and the price is fair.

I could not be happier with this coffee maker. First of all, the taste of the coffee that it produces is fantastic! Secondly, it is not nearly as hard or as time consuming as you might think. Initially I figured that I'd only use this press on the weekends, as a treat, and I'd use my drip maker during the weekdays...but once I learned how easy it was to use and how great the coffee tastes, I haven't used my drip maker even once since I purchased it. Third of all, it is simple to clean up. I used to own a brind and grew maker by Cuisinart and cleaning it was a pain in the neck! With the Bodum press, you simply rinse the grinds out of the canister and the strainer and viola, you're done. I would highly recommend this to any coffee lover.

This product works fine, works as advertised and makes some very good coffee very fast. Since purchasing this item we have seen similar items that cost less... perhaps not the same quality, but that is the only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars. Perhaps this should be a 4 1/2 star rating. If you decide to buy this item I'm pretty sure you will be very happy with it and it is solid. It should give you many years of good service and, as I said, it does make good coffee.

I bought this because I grind my own oat and flax. This doesn't grind as fine as I would like. It says not to go past 25 sec in grinding at one time. It also says not to start and stop. So what I do is grind it for 25 sec let it rest and go again three times. This does make the grain much finer. Another reason I love this one is the plastic doesn't get chipped in the grinding of grain. My old black and decker did and when that happens you are getting plastic into your food.

Other coffee grinders the cover is on the inside of the grinder. Because of that after grinding so many times the plastic starts to chip off into your food. The cover on this on is on the outside so the grain or coffee beans does not hit against the plastic. The cylinder that ... Read More:

I bought this product on a whim, it was on clearance at a local Williams Sonoma (the same price as Amazon) and I have told everyone I know about this product, I love it. I had cleaned my coffee machine several times the old fashioned way, vinegar, hot water, etc. but nothing seemed to really work. One time with this product and the coffee machine was pretty much brand new again and all the stains in my thermal coffee pot were gone, even when I use bleach to clean the pot there is still some left over stains, I love this stuff. I know that the box says to use once a week but I think that's a bit much, once a month or every other month is probably fine.

Bodum Chambord 12-Ounce Coffee Press

I got this because I wanted to be able to make a cup of coffee for myself (my husband doesn't drink coffee). Keep in mind that it is small and makes enough for 1 cup of coffee for just 1 person at a time. I would suggest buying an extra glass beaker at the same time - I broke mine the first week and had to go to Sur La Table and buy the beaker for $10.

I am the only coffee drinker in the house and this coffee maker and coffee works great for me. I love the French Vanilla and the Hazelnut. Best coffee ever!
