Good product and improved over previous design...open at bottom so you can view how full the cup is getting so no overflow. New handle design is also an improvement.
As a kid in the 70s and 80s, my parents had one of these. Not being a coffee drinker, I always thought it was embarrassingly low tech. Now that I'm an adult (though still not a big coffee drinker), I wanted something inexpensive that wouldn't take up a lot of counter space, would be easy to care for and would make decent coffee. After looking at various options, I finally settled on this one, and I'm glad I did. Not only does it work perfectly well, as advertised, it also makes great-tasting coffee (which is more than I can say about the little stovetop percolator I tried before investing in this one). It's also easy to store in my cabinet when not in use.
Two additional notes: The coffee maker calls for size 6 filters, and those ... Read More:

I'm the only coffee drinker in the household and have had one of these for several years. It worked great for single usage; when there was a 2nd coffee drinker around I had trouble with spillage and uneven distribution. Now we have a Mr. Coffee for when there's company.
After 3 years or so, it just stopped working but, at this price, I had no qualms about getting another. So far this one has worked as well as the first. The only difference I can see is that the cord seems shorter so that I can't fit the unit under the kitchen cabinet as easily as I could with the first one. I have to angle it to get it out enough to open the top and that's inconvenient. I'll probably end up getting a small extension cord or plug which will solve the problem ... Read More:
I was very dissatisfied with the shipper's packaging of this product. The retail packaging is simple cardboard box. The seller sent it to me in a PADDED ENVELOPE, which at some point got crushed by the USPS.
The product's plastic framework withstood this treatment and popped back into shape, but the gold-plated metal filter has a dent. So, it's functional and I'm not going to bother returning it.
My issue is that I paid $6.68 to get this shipped to me. So, my $12 coffee filter costs me ~$18.00. I might as well have gone to a Bricks and Mortar establishment to purchase this and gotten an undamaged one for the same price.
I love this thing. Use it every day. I grind down my pre-ground or beans to espresso fine once every few days and keep a supply in a plastic container. I haven't bought a single pre-made pod since I got it. (Though, I probably will keep some on hand just for convenience and for my boyfriend who can't figure out this duck thing.)
Have a few suggestions:
-- DO use espresso grind or grind down your regular drip grind supply - it makes a huge difference.
-- DO adjust to your own taste and play around with it a bit. I like strong coffee, so I fill it to the top and hit the 8 oz button.
-- Once in a while, DO clean off the part of the senseo top where the water comes out (the silver circle). The Duck top has ... Read More:
This mug is awesome. It was hard to find a large mug that would hodl coffee for all day. My only omplaint is that it doesn't have a closure on the opening so if I go over a bump a little spills - no big deal!
I have the capprisso coffee maker that has the bean grinder built in, I purchased a new one of these because I ruined the first one. I descailed the coffee maker with the first one left inside it. I didn't realize it would remove the gold coating, thus allowing it to not do the proper removal of larger pieces. I love my cappresso machine. This can go into the dishwasher top rack, just do not leave it in the maker while doing the descailing process. Now I am Happy once again.
Like W. Jones, my pod maker also quit heating up after only 2 wks. When it worked, it was fantastic. But $39.95 plus shipping is a little too much money for something that you only get to use for 2 wks.!!!!!!
