We used this fondue pot for beef/chicken fondue a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Got the oil to temp in good time. I like the shallow, wide design of the pot compared to my old standard deep, sterno-driven pot. I just wish the Rival had a lid to go with it.

With Lodge cast iron cookware, you know what you're getting; a heavy and heavy-duty cooking vessel. With their recent process of pre-seasoned LodgeLogic, it hasn't gotten lighter, but definitely better. Specifically with this wok, ( as has been mentioned before ), it takes a while to heat up,but it holds the heat and cooks very evenly. The two best features for me were the two smallish loop handles, so much better for storage, and the best news by far.... a true bowl bottom on the interior of the wok, absolutely no flat spots to collect any food and debris. It's performed beautifully and with the LodgeLogic, it's a breeze to clean with a stiff brush after sufficient cooling. With it's price, it's a steal.
I bought this skillet because it is deeper. I have other Lodge skillets but to fry chicken, a deeper skillet works better. I love my cast iron. I find it easy to clean, which surprised me as I used to buy the enameled cast iron thinking it to be much easier to clean. However, the enameled cast iron started to chip over time so I went with the basic cast iron and have been quite pleased with the ease of cleaning.

This is a great skillet for an amateur cook. I'm a student who tries to find time to cook for myself and buying a skillet for $40 has made me more willing to throw a steak into the oven or make grilled cheese sandwiches to go with fresh pasta on a cold Fall evening. If you let the pan soak after cooking, things come right off with a sponge.
This pan is really everything that I could ask for. The 10'' is a perfect size to cook almost anything in a stainless steel pan. I'll likely buy a Cuisinart 12'' non-stick for fried rice and the like.
My only complaint about the pan is that the packaging is extremely ineffective at preventing damage to the pan. Amazon tried to protect the box with more than enough air packs but I noticed ... Read More:

Very versitile and will use forever.. Glad I bought it.. Just don't cook very acidic things in it (wine especially)- it removes the seasoning of the pan..
Finally a cooling rack that is the perfect size to fit in a half sheet pan. Sturdy and stable. Works great for broiling, then you can just throw it in the dishwasher!

I wanted a 5-6qt stainless steel pot with glass lid. This seemed to be perfect. Unfortunately, it's use is limited since you can only use low and slow heat. I think the capacity is too large for the small base. Be careful.....very to easy to burn food on the bottom. It's a great steamer with a separate insert.
While unpacking, I found the 1-qt. bowl was defective. It looks unpolished, hazy, opaque, not clear, see-through glass. There are also scratch marks on the interior surface. The rest of the bowls in the set look fine.
I immediately used Amazon's online returns/replacement option and obtained a free return shipping label. Then Amazon sent me an email, saying they would send a replacement set immediately, and to not return the defective bowl.
Thank you for your great Customer Service, Amazon.com.
Dunno about the quality of these bowls (now made in China, as most everything else, these days). Although the thick rim on the top of the bowls gives the appearance of sturdiness and strength, the bowls' themselves are ... Read More:
I've had this skillet about 3 months. {I got it to replace a similar Farberware one that I had loved. After 10 years, it suddenly went from non-stick to ever-stick.} I use this for one-dish meals, stir-fry, frying 2-5 lbs of ground beef to freeze, and many other things. I probably use it several times a week. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that it could really use a helper handle. It works to use a pot holder on the lip opposite the handle to transfer the skillet from the stove to the table. But,if I need to transfer the contents into something else, it's better to use a measuring cup to transfer rather than trying to pour. It worked great tonight for making meatballs - no sticking at all. I am very happy with the finish. I am careful ... Read More:
