My youngest daughter loves this magazine and I love that there is no advertising in it. The baby animals are very attractive to children and that keeps them interested in reading about them. I also receive Spider magazine for my older child and it does not contain advertising either.

I love reading and doing the games/puzzles with my 5 and 7 year old. The games actually build spatial and reasoning skills in a non stressful way.

Fantastic magazine. But buy it directly from the publisher. The subscription price is exactly what amazon is offering, anyway, and you'll get it a lot faster. We also bought two sets of a year's worth from eBay.

Zoobooks

I have been ordering Zoobooks for several years for my grandson. He loves them. When we go for hikes on our city trails or to the zoo, he is always giving me information that he learned in Zobooks on the animals we see. I am fascinated with all the knowledge he has gained from Zoobooks.

I saw an issue of this magazine at the Louisville Science Museum yesterday when Isaiah, who is six, and I spent a rainy day exploring science and inventions. I don't remember what topic the issue covered, but the magazine's focus on science interested Isaiah so I thought about getting him a subscription for Christmas. Of course, as soon as I came home, I went immediately to Amazon's site to hear what other parents thought about it. I was shocked at the number of one-star reviews and clicked on that link in order to see what the problem was. Ladybug

Several of my youngest nieces live in other states and I only get to see them once or twice a year. It's nice to know that when Ladybug arrives, they have a monthly reminder about their Aunt!

I got a subscription for my neice's 4th birthday (she started reading early) and she reads it voraciously from cover to cover once its in the mail. She really likes it. Personally, I could do without the games that sends subliminal messages that the princess has to get to the prince to win and would rather they focus more on characters like Belle and Mulan, rather than Cinderella-types. Sorry, but in reality when you wish upon a star, you'll still get beat by people who didn't and instead worked hard to achieve their "wishes."

I am seven years old. My favorite section is "Ask Jimmy and the Bug". The questions that kids send in are very interesting. "Marvin and Friends" is another good part of the magazine. Most of the time it's very funny. I recommend this magazine very much.

Babybug

I got this subscription for my daughter when she was 6 months old. She loved them. They're small enough to put in the bathroom, so I would put her on the toilet and we'd read every morning after breakfast. The poems are catchy and the illustrations are interesting so I don't mind reading them over and over again. They are a higher quality than most children's magazines, too, which means my daughter doesn't tear them to shreds.

I would give Babybug four stars if they released an issue every month (12 per year rather than 9), or if they brought the price down to under $30.

Brio

Brio magazine is a christian girl's magazine for about 13-16 year olds, although it could be for as young as 8 or 9. Brio and Beyond is just the 'graduated' version, for 16-22 year olds. Being in the "brio" age group, I would highly reccomend Brio. It's the only magazine I am subscribed too, and I read it front to back the day it arrives in the mail. I really couldn't see a magazine more suitable for teen girls. It is perfect, and has a lot of fun suggestions to do with friends and siblings or yourself. one of my favorites was when they gave gace masks recipes, another one was Chai tea recipes.
