Zoobooks

I have been ordering Zoobooks for several years for my grandson. He loves them. When we go for hikes on our city trails or to the zoo, he is always giving me information that he learned in Zobooks on the animals we see. I am fascinated with all the knowledge he has gained from Zoobooks.

I saw an issue of this magazine at the Louisville Science Museum yesterday when Isaiah, who is six, and I spent a rainy day exploring science and inventions. I don't remember what topic the issue covered, but the magazine's focus on science interested Isaiah so I thought about getting him a subscription for Christmas. Of course, as soon as I came home, I went immediately to Amazon's site to hear what other parents thought about it. I was shocked at the number of one-star reviews and clicked on that link in order to see what the problem was. I now know about the heavy-handed collection tactics and apparently deceptive subscription techniques. I have NO interest in becoming ensnared in anything like that. I have now ordered this magazine for several friends who are either new to the Catholic Church or who are anxious to learn more about it. It is an excellent resource and is full of articles -- many in Q and A format -- which deal with many interesting faith issues and present full and understandable answers. I, myself, have a fairly good background in the Faith and I find it quite interesting also. Good, solid explanations and interestingly presented.

As an elementary art teacher, this is a great resource! Not only are there many, many ideas for all age groups (many are very adaptable with a little creativity) it is a great source for new products. The clip cards are wonderful and I especially love the new Famous Artist cards - giving a short bio of each artist in a card format. I keep all my clip cards organized in a file box and it has grown to be a fantastic place to look for new ideas no matter what grade I am teaching this week. I look forward to every issue. This magazine is a great inspirational tool!

I have been a fan of Teacher's Helper for years. If I had to give up all but one of my teacher subscriptions, this is the one I would keep. This magazine has just what I need to reinforce and reteach skills. The editors are right on target with the skill set. Each new issue is filled with material I need and can use immediately. Very high quality product!

I originally purchased Piensa as a supplement reading material for my husband who is taking Spanish. It seems to be a little difficult to find reading materials in Spanish for adults, and this magazine is really fun to read. It has a monthly recipe (which I liked!) and vocabulary words on each side for the article with which one is reading. It is a super concept, and am very glad we found it on Amazon!
