This magazine was recommended to me after I mentioned to another dog lover that I wished there was a dog magazine that had a little more substance to it (as compared to the one very popular dog magazine that we see sold at book stores all over the US).

I was looking for a different viewpoint, maybe some articles that provided insights into dogs, their behavior, culture, research,etc. The Bark does an excellent job at filling this niche - it provides thoughtful, well written articles and is arranged beautifully.

Yes, there is some 'fluff' in here (pardon the pun), but again, if you are looking for perhaps more of a sociological/cultural approach, this is a magazine worth exploring...One other reviewer mentioned that ... Read More:

I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old daughter because she loves to sing and dance. I loaded her favorite music on it and away she went. The earbuds are too big for her ears but the built in speaker is good enough. She keeps it clipped to her waste and takes it everywhere. It uses a AAA battery and I'm pretty impressed with the battery life,haven't replaced it yet.

If you don't mind the size of it I highly recommend it.

While I have not received this publication as yet, I had previously subscribed. Great for any dog owner who is interestrd in keeping up with the latest developments in dog training and health.

I've subscribed to the WDJ for years and in almost every issue there is an article that I can use or apply to a canine situation I have. Their food reviews (although not Consumer Reports)provide much useful information to help you decide if you should change foods and what brands to try. I don't think some of major "natural" dog food manufacturers would seek to have their names on the top ten list if they didn't feel the WDJ reviews had real impact on their readers. I also thought the articles that educate the reader about specific parts of canine anatomy and physiology are very helpful to dog owners so we can spot potential trouble or be able to speak intelligently to our vets. I still think this is one of the best publications on natural foods ... Read More:
