I found my first "Cross Stitcher" at a bookstore and was hooked. Finding them untouched, with all the pieces still inside, is nearly impossible as some folks like to open the plastic bag in which it is sent and see what's inside - and in doing that, the special "gift" with each issue is lost. Issue 200 (for example) enclosed a new cloth bag for a person's stitching/sewing kit. Each magazine is full of new titles that I have never seen (yet they are ubiquitous in England) and the advertisements in the back have opened new cross stitch doors and vendors for me. "Cross Stitcher" has projects for beginners as well as experienced stitchers and as something that I appreciate, an estimate of how long each project should take you. All in all, a terrific ... I have been subscribing with this magazine since the first issue. I am a avid cross stitcher. I only wished I had more time. The articles are great. The patterns are easily seen and colorful. They can fit into any home. Some of them have biblical reference. I love the reciepe that they include into the magazine.
You cant go wrong with this subscription....only wished I could order more time to stitch.

What a fabulous magazine! The designs are more intricate and sophisticated than those found in American magazines yet the charts are still as easy to read. Just wish it wasn't quite so expensive or could be charged month by month! - Carol Lehr
I understand the previous reviewer's comment regarding the price, but to give a single star gives the wrong impression. The magazine is magnificently produced. The charts are in color, with symbols, and very easy to read. The projects are beautiful and varied. What more could you want. It's worth every penny you eventually decide to spend on it.
STITCH Magazine was started in 1999 by The Embroiderers' Guild (of England) in response to its members' requests for a practical, project-oriented magazine. Since its inception, the magazine has encompassed both traditional needlework and artsy fiberart, and recently has settled into a good blend of the two.
Issues are consistently filled with small projects in which a new technique or a twist on an old technique can be tried out. In this respect, this is a "must-have" magazine for every needlework guild chapter who plans a program for monthly meetings, or for fiberart teachers working with teen to adult students.
Additionally, there are season-long workshops on color or images & dyeing, or similar fiberart issues ... Read More:
I love this magazine! I cross-stitched in the 70-80s before my eyes were less co-operative which led me to beading. This magazine combines both beading and cross-stitch! The terrific patterns are varied: blackwork, 3D (ex. Santa, mobile, lizards) mixed media (cross stitch paper, box) and of course the usual jewelry (great amulet bags), wall hangings, pillows. They have good instructions-although occasionally the Australian terms for products makes you have to search for that item. They aren't cutesy like many cross-stitch mags. The stitching patterns have a good amt of depth/detail. The paper quality is wonderful and charts are easy to enlarge if you need to. The most recent issue addressed why she added beading. Plain and simple--it kept her magazine ... Read More:
Bought this magazine from vintage vogue for $6.99 an issue which is what it sells for, but your advertising it for 11.33 and issue what a rip off. will continue to buy from someone else. but it is a fanztastic magazine.
