This magazine is mostly aimed at making clothing/wearables and is slick with lots of great pictures. Not for everyone, but like all Tauton publications it is sophisticated and has those articles many other magazines don't cover. Often the articles will cover how designers construct clothing or how great past designers such as Coco Channel changed design, imagined color, constructed their clothing, etc. There are also many imaginative embellishments and views of great vintage clothing. Perhaps not for everyone but has its place and is a feast for the eyes.

Covers a wide variety of sewing projects and techniques. I subcribed to this magazine for many years, but stopped because sadly I hardly have time to sew anymore and prefer to crochet because I can take it with me. Aimed at the homesewer interested in honing skills or looking for a fun project. This is a helpful publication for beginners but also has aricles and projects to suit more advanced sewers. Also covers latest/useful products. There is a good reason this magazine has been a favorite of sewers for years.

American Patchwork & Quilting (1-year)

I have found American Patchwork and Quilting to be among the best in quilting magazines. I love every issue. The articles are informative and the patterns are simply wonderful. Not every issue will please every reader, but this one comes close.

Okay, I will agree with the previous two reviews about both the elitist attitude (extremely expensive materials, not for beginners) and that the clothes are pretty out of date and in most of the country your daughter would be snickered at for wearing a lace tea-gown outside the house. But I still love this magazine.

There are beginner's projects that come along every once and a while: there was a multi-issue album quilt last year that explained all of the techniques perfectly (it would be great if they could sell that as a stand-alone pattern, it was a wonderful introduction). Creative Needle Magazine

This magazine is one of my all time favorites! With each issue, I am inspired to try something new, dig out an older project and finish it, or design something totally original! Creative Needle is a must-have magazine for anyone who enjoys smocking, embroidery, fine linens, and perfect finishing touches. Though it is mostly girl's dresses, it also provides patterns and inspirations for womenswear, gifts, and home decor. Each issue comes with full size pull-out patterns. Well worth the subscription price!!

Burda Moden

I love this magazine. While the subscription price seems costly, using only one pattern from each issue makes it worth while. The patterns are very well cut, the styles wonderful. There are patterns patterns for beginners to advanced sewers.

I am a subscribor to this magazine. I have decent sewing skills and love to create sewn items for my childrens wardrobes and my home. The styles portrayed in this magazine are definitely NOT up to date with current fashions. Some of them are really, really bad. The instructions and technical information is great, the creative staff needs to embrace popular and timeless classical styles so their magazine can be enjoyed by a greater scope of ages. I will not be continuing my subscription since I honestly can say I have found only ONE project that I am interested in doing over the past year.
