I've been getting Entertainment Weekly for about 10 years, and I've pretty much liked it the entire time. For a while, they had a problem with spoiling plots, but that seems to have been addressed. This magazine keeps me informed about the pop culture that I don't have enough time to experience first hand.
I bought this as a gift for my teenage daughter. She loves it! The delivery is timely, and so much better priced than in the stores.
Great gift for a teenager. They are so hard to buy for!

I like this magazine a great deal. I only got it because of certain stars that appear in it but this is why I order Maxim and previously Stuff and FHM (both out of circulation).

For a heterosexual guy, People en Espanol is boring. Issue after issue, it's nothing but "beautiful" celebrities (an "overkill" with Penelope Cruz in every issue); what celebrity got married or divorced; overpriced fashion; jewelry; make-up; hair-do; etc. People in English has similar contents; but it also has stories on current events, politics, and other news worthy stories. If People en Espanol would follow the English verison and cover current news events, it would be much more interesting to me. As it stands now, subscribing to People in Espanol was a mistake for me!

I like Spin magazine. Sure, it has a lot of ads and they primarily cover newer trends in music. There's not a lot for people who like classic pop vocals here! However, I always like to keep my head tuned in for new artists and the evolution of music; and so for me Spin magazine serves the purpose well. Moreover, the quality of the paper, images and text is great; and the binding is well manufactured, too.
Spin has articles on great new music and hot developments in the music industry. For example, the current issue focuses on R.E.M. and their "resurrection." I love it! They also have smaller articles with pictures of other newcomers to the music scene.
In addition, look for interesting articles like "who earns what" and "the honor ... Read More:
I have been sucked in to getting this magazine twice for subscriptions simply because it was so cheap. Both times I found it to be just awful. If I found one interview in it that I was interested in it was lucky. And then the concept of having a famous person interview another famous person? Well that sounds like a novel concept but it usually really stinks and the interviews and interviewer prove to be inept. I gave it a second chance and it still does nothing for me. They will not get a third chance once this subscription runs out.

As the traditional print media contiues to lose ground to other news/entertainment sources, the coverage of issues must become more focused on what sells in the marketplace. Simply, the era of cutting-edge reporting in magazines has about run its course.
At one point, Vibe attempted to merge the more puff features of pop culture, with hard news and angles on artists not found in other competitors. But it now mostly relies on the puff over anything else.
Though the magazine does try to cover the independent music scene and continues to minimally attempt news stories, the pages are dominated by chart-topping artists, those bring pushed for stardom by the record companies and models marketing clothes and accessories.
