Brio magazine is a christian girl's magazine for about 13-16 year olds, although it could be for as young as 8 or 9. Brio and Beyond is just the 'graduated' version, for 16-22 year olds. Being in the "brio" age group, I would highly reccomend Brio. It's the only magazine I am subscribed too, and I read it front to back the day it arrives in the mail. I really couldn't see a magazine more suitable for teen girls. It is perfect, and has a lot of fun suggestions to do with friends and siblings or yourself. one of my favorites was when they gave gace masks recipes, another one was Chai tea recipes. Biblical Archaeology Review

What more can you want out of an archeology magazine that is directed toward both lay readership and experts? It is well written in a clear and concise way. It covers archaeological topcis from around the world in a fair and even-handed way. It also discusses topics that are of keen importance to those who are interested in preserving the past, such as use of unprovenanced artifacts. There is even occasional discussion on what we must do to ensure that future archaeologists are not left in the lurch. I truly enjoyed reading about why, for this reason, we should not disturb early man-made satellites.

I love this magazine, but it is cheaper on the Guideposts website. It's only 9.97 plus .97 cents for shipping for twelve issues. On here, it's 16.97 for one year. In fact, on their website, you can get TWO years for 17.97 there...just one dollar more. Save yourself some money and don't deal with Amazon on this one!!!

TAPS Para Magazine

Because I find the TV series Ghost Hunters a fascinating television series (I have purchased all of the DVSs), I subscribed to TAPS magazine, expecting the magazine to focus on the scientific investigation of ghosts and the paranormal topics relevant to the specific episodes of the TV series. Instead, I discovered that the magazine focused less on Ghost Hunters and more on a conglomeration of folklore and unrelated paranormal topics that had nothing to do with the program. I stopped the subscription after one year. I'll just stick to the DVDs. If I want information on other paranormal topics, I'll look them up for free on the internet.

Today's Christian Woman

I love Today's Christian Woman! It has great articles, beauty tips, how to handle life, cooking,advice, and everything that other women's magazines have, but it is all Christ-centered and positively-focused. It is very high-quality and so interesting. I would love to get gift subscriptions to all the my women friends.

I found this magazine to be an odd mixture of science and spirituality, and almost all disappointingly shallow. I tried to cancel my subscription, but was unsuccessful as their customer service (contacted through the S&H website) was completely unresponsive.

I have now ordered this magazine for several friends who are either new to the Catholic Church or who are anxious to learn more about it. It is an excellent resource and is full of articles -- many in Q and A format -- which deal with many interesting faith issues and present full and understandable answers. I, myself, have a fairly good background in the Faith and I find it quite interesting also. Good, solid explanations and interestingly presented.

Ditto to the first two reviews. Deals honestly with relevant issues without sacrificing integrity.Thought provoking and challenging. Good fodder for sermon series, we recently gave a subscription as a welcome gift to our new minister...and he loves it too. Money well spent.
