Be careful with this company... I recieved a card in the mail for a gift membership to this magazine. I thought it would be a cool gift so I filled the card out as an interested party. They started sending the magazine without recieving any money from me to start the subscription... well after thinking about it I decided not to do it so I did not want to pay for it. They continued to send it I thought in error... Now over a year later they send me a collection letter from a collection compnay for the 19.95 subscription fee. Why would a company send a product before being paid.. to rip off customers. OK magazine but I would not bother with this company ever.

Fake airbushed pictures, ie Andy Roddick. That guys arms turned out bigger than his waist. This magazine used to be okay. I think they spend more time with tanning, lights, make-up and Photoshop that they do with real athletes. If they cut out the "4-page advertisements" every 6 pages along with all the adds at back of the magazine it would consist of the cover and a 1/2 page article. They should pay people to accept it in the mail, hard to charge for a brochure. I just wish it was more "real" and less about selling us on smelling like roses and wearing $350 desinger shoes, cater to the average Joe who just wants to get good info and work-out ideas. I could watch QVC and MTV to cover any lack of B.S. I may be experiencing. Your best bet is to ... Read More:
I bought the subscription for my husband because he wanted it. I thought it would a less sleazy version of Maxium, not to trash Maxium, but come on. Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised because not only did my husband love the magazine, I also ended up reading it and getting health and diet tips. We now have a magazine we can actually have a conversation about.

I subscribed to Muscle and Fitness Hers and really enjoyed a weighlifting magazine geared toward women. When they discontinued it was with the promise we'd get plenty of articles of our own in Muscle and Fitness. But this magazine has turned into one large ad. The articles are still useful, but there are too many ads now and not enough tips and advice for women bodybuilders.
I subscribed to this magazine for a year and started out satisfied with the issues. There was always one good article on lifting techniques, with a smattering of some good health trivia; otherwise, the magazine was jammed with ads for supplements.
Every September, I see them...the young fourteen and fifteen year old kids flocking to the gym with arms, chests, and thighs all measuring 12 inches around. They are the skinny kids - hoping to gain some muscle and maybe while they're at it, some esteem...some confidence...some inner power. I empathize with these kids because I was one of them. I had to make sure that I was looking at my teachers face forward when they took role, because if I didn't, I'd be marked absent.
When I first entered a "real gym", I was so intimidated. There were some really huge guys there and yeah, there were some serious idiots there who liked to intimidate the "newbies" but fortunately for me, I met a few of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet who literally ... Read More:

I like this magazine a lot better than Muscular Development magazine. MD claims to be the biggest magazine, but that's to their disadvantage. MD is too hardcore, but after a while all the articles contain the same content. All of the pages are a lot of the same old stuff. Flex magazine is new and fresh every month. It is a little bit commercialized, but it makes it able to be read by either male or female workout enthusiasts/bodybuilders. It is filled with a lot of unorthodoxed workout routines to help add some spice to a plateauing workout. I used to subscribe to Flex, but switched to see what all the hype was about on all the other magazines. Now I'm back and I would definitely recommend this magazine to anyone who works out.
