I think Nascar Illustrated is a great magazine. Its got great articles that are interesting to both the beginner NASCAR fan and those who are the core- NASCAR fanbase. Its got great pictures and interesting indepth interviews with all my favorite (and some of my not so favorite) drivers. I look forward to the arrival of my copy every month.
Just a word to those thinking of subscribing. You can probably get a better rate by going to the magazine's website.
I have had my subscription to NASCAR Scene for a little over a year now. I love this magazine. It has very timely articles related to recent happenings in the NASCAR world. It follows the three major NASCAR series: Sprint cup, Nationwide and Craftsman truck. It also includes great notes and letters from fans and readers. In the back there is a weekly update on each driver. I recommend this publication to any NASCAR fan wanting to keep themselves abreast of what is happening in the world of NASCAR.
Word to the wise: you can probably get a better deal from the magazine's website.
This magazine covers a broad range of elements of interest to the Subaru community. Articles on competetition (pro and amateur) abound, as do reader's rides, technical write-ups, how-to's, product reviews, and Subaru vehicle model details and previews.
It is not just "tuner cars" or "STIs" or "rally coverage" but covers the gamut. While it does have a lot of coverage on the Impreza model (RS, WRX, STI) this is just by virtue of the popularity of those models. There is coverage of other models and activities, sports, and events featuring them as well.
NASCAR is covered here, but so are the little guys on the short tracks and dirt tracks. The guys doing it for the love, and not the money. Sure, the big dogs are covered, too, but so are tech tips, the finances, and history of racing.
From fantastic interviews to opinion pieces to columns by NASCAR's biggest names (which are usually the worst things in this magazine), this is a must-have for stock car fans and racing fans in general.
I've been a subscriber for years, and they have yet to miss an issue. Well worth the money, and definitely worth your time.

I love Roadracing World; It covers motorcycle racing in the US- from the club level to AMA as well as World Superbike and MotoGP. I love reading about my local races in the same issue as MotoGP races from around the world. I HIGHLY recommend this magazine to any motorcycle racing fan!
The friend I am giving this magazine subscription to absolutely loves this magazine, and I am sure he will be as happy with the subscription this year, as he was the last. Thank you!!
Ok, I love cars but when I read some car magazines I'm left feeling like I could never afford to drive those cars. I wonder how many people find a review of a $125K car worth while..... If you have that kind of disposable funds do you really care what some editor says about the car?
This magazine and its sister publication is for guys like me who want to know how they can be part of the sport without using the kids college fund!
Ok, now the negative.....it only comes out 8 times a year!
