I've been a subscriber to Parents magazine for years. I feel like if I miss an issue that I'll miss some important information. In addition to the great articles, product information, and pictures of cute kids, you will find disease, health and vaccine updates, product recalls and warnings about products that every parent should be aware of.
On the lighter side, I love the pictures of the kids, "Baby Bloopers", and "It Worked for Me!" monthly sections.
Also nice, in addition to a table of contents, there is an age-by-age guide included, which states what articles relate to each age, birth through 12 years of age.
My mom got me this mag for a christmas present. I loved the first one that had a whole section of the best kids books. I thought it was a feature but it wasn't. They do have a section that I love that puts new (and some old) music, books, movies, and toys into color schemes for different ages and a review of these products. They also have some great features about how to plan a unique party and some dinner ideas as well as some cover articles that I enjoyed, but so much of it is fashion and makeup and things that are so expensive (some of it kids clothes and yes the models look cute but for my daughter who likes to be able to move and get dirty, it just isn't for our family.) Even before I was married I never wore make-up and yes I like to ... Read More:

This magazine perfectly reflects the American attitudes toward child-rearing. It "mentions" breastfeeding, but it's only a token mention. In the very next paragraph is information that contradicts all the fundamentals of breastfeeding. Sleeping through the night no later than 4 months?? Breastfed babies often need an overnight feeding through their ninth month. This is just one example. I don't care that this magazine is free or only a few dollars a year. I will not be bringing this useless pile of crap into my house anymore.

Most of the these reviews are a few years old and complain of waiting months for the first issue. Well, not much has changed. I ordered this for my wife 2 weeks after she found out she was pregnant and she is now almost 20 weeks! I should have looked at the reviews first. I think the main problem might be since it's every other month, they wait till the next issue is published, rather than send you the current issue. Still waiting!
This magazine was very informative, interesting and had great ideas, suggestions and advice for children. I am so glad i ordered this and i will continue receiving this magazine. This is worth every penny paid. I am certain you will think the same after receiving you first copy. A FIVE STAR MAGAZINE*****
My family has been getting this magazine ever since I can remember, and I liked it. But it started to change over the years, and I think the biggest change was the comics. It used to be Noah Vale, which was funny, but it had to stop when the 'bad' kid got saved, so they switched to Johnny Bravo, a si fi. Then that ended because the evil guy got defeated, so now it is some rat. The jokes are corny, and the games are weak, but I think this magazine would be excelant for 8-10 year olds. But if you're more interested in the older stuff, get the other ones.

Gives new (and old) ideas to start faithful traditions in your family. Inspiring accounts of people living and/or converting to the Catholic faith. Refreshingly faithful to the magisterium. A great gift for a young Catholic family.
