Very well written, and packed with good information and wonderful portfolios. An absolute must-have for anyone shooting in large format. Great resource to find out what other people are doing, get technical advice, and see ads from pretty much all of the LF world.

Woodcraft Magazine

Woodcraft is a magazine published by the Woodcraft woodworking stores and it shows. There is a lot more reviews of products than with other magazines. Projects are good but not many beginner ones. Geared more toward folks that have some good woodworking background. Projects are there and well written but not many per issue (3-4). Lots of write-up about layout and less on how to do that step (Assumes you know how to do mortises and tongue and groove for instance).
Why 3 stars? Not very thick per a bi-annual issue (few ads!) so rather pricy. I have not done any projects like I have with Woodworker Journal (my #1 choice). One of a few magazines I let the subscription run out.

What a wonderful, creative, informative magazine. I'd become so bored and jaded with the American magazines which all seem to look the same and say the same thing. Selvedge helps to reaffirm there are creative people out there creating!

Elle Decoration - British Edition

I absolutely adore Elle Decoration - as several other reviewers have noted, unfortunately, the American version can't compare. The spaces are gorgeous, and infinitely more imaginative and vivacious. All of my American magazines (with the exception of Interior Design) get ripped apart, with a few pages pulled out and the rest tossed - Elle Decoration always gets saved in its entirety. I highly recommend - these magazines are eye candy, and they are truly worth the extra cost of an import.

I have subscribed to this magazine for several years now, after buying them one issue at a time from the bookstore for several years. The magazine consistently has a wide variety of articles, covering techniques, events, biographies, project suggestions for instructors, and advice for those setting up their own studios. The quality continues to improve, and my personal experience with their customer support was quite satisfactory.

Photo - France

I have not yet started to receive this subscription but, I have been buying single copies off the newsstand for several years.

Although I do not speak French, this is an image publication with items primarily from Europe. French PHOTO gives a bit of visual perspective to those of us stuck on this side of the pond.
