Several of my youngest nieces live in other states and I only get to see them once or twice a year. It's nice to know that when Ladybug arrives, they have a monthly reminder about their Aunt!
I was happy to learn that the magazine contains puzzles and other activities which make it a good learning experience. This is the first magazine to captivate my granddaughter.

I got a subscription for my neice's 4th birthday (she started reading early) and she reads it voraciously from cover to cover once its in the mail. She really likes it. Personally, I could do without the games that sends subliminal messages that the princess has to get to the prince to win and would rather they focus more on characters like Belle and Mulan, rather than Cinderella-types. Sorry, but in reality when you wish upon a star, you'll still get beat by people who didn't and instead worked hard to achieve their "wishes."
I am seven years old. My favorite section is "Ask Jimmy and the Bug". The questions that kids send in are very interesting. "Marvin and Friends" is another good part of the magazine. Most of the time it's very funny. I recommend this magazine very much.
I got this subscription for my daughter when she was 6 months old. She loved them. They're small enough to put in the bathroom, so I would put her on the toilet and we'd read every morning after breakfast. The poems are catchy and the illustrations are interesting so I don't mind reading them over and over again. They are a higher quality than most children's magazines, too, which means my daughter doesn't tear them to shreds.
I would give Babybug four stars if they released an issue every month (12 per year rather than 9), or if they brought the price down to under $30.
My MIL got a subscription to this for my son and it is just adorable. As others have said, the content is great but it's very short. I am glad he gets it but I don't know If I would dish out $25 a year for it, but as long as she wants to get it for him, that's fine by me. :D
Actually, my son (age 4.5) uses it as a bathroom book. It's hilarious to see him sitting on the potty in deep thought while reading these. So for short sessions like that, they're great but don't expect them to entertain your child for any amount of time. It's also handy to keep 2 or 3 in the car (they're fairly sturdy) to look at in restaurants or dr. offices etc.
So, all in all cute but not completely worth the money IMO.
Brio magazine is a christian girl's magazine for about 13-16 year olds, although it could be for as young as 8 or 9. Brio and Beyond is just the 'graduated' version, for 16-22 year olds. Being in the "brio" age group, I would highly reccomend Brio. It's the only magazine I am subscribed too, and I read it front to back the day it arrives in the mail. I really couldn't see a magazine more suitable for teen girls. It is perfect, and has a lot of fun suggestions to do with friends and siblings or yourself. one of my favorites was when they gave gace masks recipes, another one was Chai tea recipes. And that's just an example. They have short fiction stories, an 'ask susie' column, daily devotional, fashion, beauty, entertainment, and so much more! this ... Read More:
Why do these magazines sell so well? They have dreamy pop stars on posters, and gossip, passing off as facts. This publication does just that.
They may have one or two feature stories.
Music artist are a huge draw, though few things are ever said about them. Instead comes a repeat of their favorites, and dislikes. I have a ton of these publication. Each has their own little quirks, making them more appealing to certain individuals.
Things have changed since the earlier teen magazines which consisted of mainly pictures, and not all in color.
However, these magazines need to further rethink. These magazines continue to push girls into something they may not want to be. There are females out there who could careless about the beauty, ... Read More:
