I understand the previous reviewer's comment regarding the price, but to give a single star gives the wrong impression. The magazine is magnificently produced. The charts are in color, with symbols, and very easy to read. The projects are beautiful and varied. What more could you want. It's worth every penny you eventually decide to spend on it.
I subscribe to Crochet! Magazine and this Interweave crochet publication is another of my favorite crochet magazines. It has the "quick & simple" project, but also lovely and imaginative patterns--check it out at your local bookstore or go their website: http://www.interweavecrochet.com/ to get info and check out their free pattterns. Many of the patterns are of the vintage patterns modernized vein. I highly recommend this magazine for yourself or as a gift for that special person that loves crochet.
I have picked this magazine up at bookstores a couple times, and while I enjoy looking through it, I have never run across a pattern I would like to make. It's fun to see a magazine from the U.K., but for actual knitting patterns, try Knitter's or Vogue Knitting.

I enjoy my subsprciption to Ornament the way I enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, National Geographic Magazine. Having titled this review "A Magazine Like No Other", I find that I am compelled to add, "except National Geographic". Why would I liken these two magazines to each other? Each studies the world around us, and the fascination of it, in new, surprising ways.
This magazine, Ornament, is a magazine of great beauty. However, it is not a stuffy magazine; it takes chances that you, the reader, will be open to accepting that this great beauty can be found in all sorts of new and different places.
This magazine is an exciting and encouraging magazine, which makes you want to think. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

STITCH Magazine was started in 1999 by The Embroiderers' Guild (of England) in response to its members' requests for a practical, project-oriented magazine. Since its inception, the magazine has encompassed both traditional needlework and artsy fiberart, and recently has settled into a good blend of the two.
Issues are consistently filled with small projects in which a new technique or a twist on an old technique can be tried out. In this respect, this is a "must-have" magazine for every needlework guild chapter who plans a program for monthly meetings, or for fiberart teachers working with teen to adult students.
Additionally, there are season-long workshops on color or images & dyeing, or similar fiberart ... Read More:
