I am an experienced quilter and am familiar with many of the quilting publications currently on the market. In my opinion this is certainly one of the very best. Beautiful quilts for all skill levels and excellent instructions. Exciting patterns and outstanding use of color. Very inspiring.

Sadly, it is hard to find on news stands or in US quilt shops, and the subscription price in the US is very high. But, if you have the money to invest in one really good magazine, this is it.

This is a great magazine, lots of good patterns each issue with fairly easy to read instructions. The articles are good, too.

The reason it is so expensive here is that, for some reason, Amazon is only selling the Australian version and I guess shipping it here. You can get it elsewhere on the Web for around $20 a year.

terrific magazine for the militay modeler order direct or from amazon...stay away from Wise Owl publication in california...they will take your money and provide you with nothing but problems trying to get delivery of it

I subscribed to Knit'n Style for one year.

I purchased a rather expensive summer camisole yarn and pattern kit that was featured on the front cover of June 2007 Knit'n Style. Much to my dismay, I found some very serious mistakes in the pattern that made knitting this piece a discouraging experience.
I wrote to both the Editor and the designer to alert them of these mistakes and received no help whatsoever. In fact, the apathy I was met with was pretty appalling.

Also, a friend of mine started a knitted lounge wear set featured in a more recent copy of Knit'n Style and she ran into some very serious mistakes in the pattern instructions that made her experience with this magazine rather miserable as well. My friend ... Read More:

Bought this magazine from vintage vogue for $6.99 an issue which is what it sells for, but your advertising it for 11.33 and issue what a rip off. will continue to buy from someone else. but it is a fanztastic magazine.

If you're new to carving & want to get some ideas on where to start, this may be the magazine for you. Most of the projects (usually one per magazine) are relatively simple w/ decent instructions, firmly set in the "objet d'art" category. Stuff that makes for interesting gifts that may collect dust on someone's shelves.

If you're looking for information or properties of various types of woods, try an encyclopedia instead ("Encyclopedia of Wood," ISBN: 0816021597 is a good place to start).

If you are looking for events or carving groups in your area, you might want to search online - unless you live in the U.K., where this magazine is produced.

Give it a shot for a year. You'll probably pick up a tip or 2 and then move on ... Read More:
