I have been collecting books off and on for over 20 years. Before I started reading Fine Books & Collections in 2004, however; I was quite ignorant to book collecting outside my specific area of interest. Over the years I have become much more sophisticated and knowledgeable about collecting thanks to FB&C.

Each issue covers a broad spectrum of subjects ranging from the basics of collecting to explanations of particular areas of specialty. They have regular columns on collector and dealer profiles, maps, fine press, auction reports, and so on. It is the only magazine that I read cover to cover and enjoy every minute of it. This used to be a wonderful, innovative, different rubberstamping delight. Now it looks like all the others. It's small and not nearly as much fun as it used to be.

This was a renewal of a magazine subscription purchased as a gift for my wife. She was thrilled to receive the first year issues, and requested the renewal. She is saving all of the issues so that she can review the patterns again as she has time to plan her future knitting efforts. A real good investment for knitting enthusiasts. Could have given a 5-star rating if the price was a little lower, but no complaints about the value.

Country Sampler

Country Sampler is always interesting to look at and there are items to purchase which I have not done yet. If you like country collectibles, it is a good magazine to peruse. Some items are a little too expensive for the quality but overall I rate this a 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a good magazine, a lot of banners, but still good. My friend Moris Beracha who is a RC Sailplanes Champion here in California recommend me. Go for it.

Okay, I will agree with the previous two reviews about both the elitist attitude (extremely expensive materials, not for beginners) and that the clothes are pretty out of date and in most of the country your daughter would be snickered at for wearing a lace tea-gown outside the house. But I still love this magazine.

There are beginner's projects that come along every once and a while: there was a multi-issue album quilt last year that explained all of the techniques perfectly (it would be great if they could sell that as a stand-alone pattern, it was a wonderful introduction). It's true that not every issue has them, but if you look on the newsstand you can usually find if the new issue has one. The thing is that it's a magazine for people ... Read More:

This is one of the finest needlework magazines I have ever seen. Every issue presents interesting techniques and wonderful projects. The directions and full size patterns are wonderful to work with.
