Where shall I start? The current issue on the shelf at a local Borders has a variety of articles: Threesomes- 'it's fun to watch your man f--- the next b---..., voting for Obama as the next President only because the magazines readers are black(small letters intentional by reviewer),the child supprt issue( as if only Black men have those issues), ref's to
Black females as 'golddiggers' (popularized by Kanye West), European, Latin American females as easy, an article/interview where the 2nd question prompts a response(paraphrasing here-f--- this latin chick), glorifies guns, negates all strength and power of Black women and all women, regardless of ethnicity( I believe Michael Eric Dyson could expound on this). Oppresive. The souls of ... Read More:
Every issue of this mag has a great cover and some excellent artwork within. I used to grab it at the supermarket but its circulation has decreased and I recently bit the bullet and went ahead and subscribed. I'm really glad I did; the issues seem to have only gotten better during the hiatus between the former abundance on shelves and my recent decision to aggressively track a subscription down.
Some of the best new authors are represented with excellent genre fiction and more established authors drop by regularly to contribute a short story or excerpt. All of the writing is very professional and imaginative and the featured interviews and movie close-ups are also highly informative and entertaining. I'd put it up against Analog or Asimov's ... This magazine is designed for piano students not teachers as the other reviewer mistakenly thought. It is a 16-page publication with interesting bios of composers and music history to spark students' interest. Although intended for piano students, many of the articles feature information that is of interest to students who play other instruments. My kids love the puzzles and games that are based on the articles. If you know a young piano student, get them this great magazine.
An Argentine friend of mine introduced hello to me about ten years ago. This mag sets itself apart from others and I had no idea that it existed, being a magazine freak myself.
It did not take long for me to fall in love with this well crafted work, with it's excellent stories of celebrities every week; gorgeous recipes, and generally well written updates on things Hollywood, and whatever is happening in and the British movie land.
I encourage anyone who loves reading fresh material with glossy pages, to try this engaging magazine which I now buy every week. I love it!!!

I think this magazine is perfect for anyone who is serious about dance. It covers a lot of different types of dance like Ballet, Jazz, and Hip hop.The "advice for dancers" column is very helpful and the advertisements (for dance shoes, workshops, auditions, equipment, etc.) are useful rather than annoying. Therefore, I would recommend this magazine to anyone who loves to dance.
This is a great magazine. It has many easy to do crafts that cost very little. IF you are a leader of any type that involves children this magazine would be a must as far as I'm concerned. The directions are always clear and generally the materials are things that you have on hand or can easily recycle.
I first learned about "Instinct" when I was at a party, and have since subscribed. I like the magazine; it's perfect for when you find "Out" too intellectually demanding. I enjoy the various articles, and the reviews of books and media are well-written.
Just a word of warning, though: if you subscribe, do NOT use the "bill me later" option. I dropped the postcard into the mail in late May, and it took them so long to send me a bill (I got it on 9/8 with a due date of 9/12) that they suspended my subscription for non-payment. This has since been resolved (the customer service online was very helpful), but if you subscribe, do so online or mail them the payment in advance. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches.
if you love gossip that may not be true, then by all means, buy this magazine. I suscribed to it for pictures to follow the pregancy of Gaby Espino, but they had nothing on her so I canceled. what a waste. you can have free, FAKE gossip on the internet nowadays.
ironically i had a subsciption when i was a little kid of about 10.
it also never came! surprise.
back story. my father bought me a subscription when i was very young . i remember 2 things. 1st: it came like once every 2 months and took about 4-5 months for the 1st issue to arrive. 2nd: my grandparents quickly threw away those that i did recieve
so, ... forward 23 years. a new subscription. 2 months later, no arrival.
but in this day of technology i send them several emails. NOT ONE RESPONSE.
so same story. no magazine in hand (to dork out too.)
and i dont even care if i do get the magazine at this point . ill just get my money back and buy Rue Morgue instead!
hope you have better lick than myself.

I have loved tokion ever since it was in japanese and english simultaneously, then it switched to separate English and Japanese versions and it was great. I read it off and on whenever i see a copy on the rack, and have a vast collection of past issues at home. Fast forward to September 2007: i go to pick up the latest version of Tokion and i hardly recognize it- a new glossy finish and a new font, but that's not all. What's worse is it has dropped all of its normal formatting and interview coverage and turned into a washed up mostly pictures fashion mag. DISGUSTING. all the positive reviews for this magazine are pre- glossy fashion magazine tokion. i don't know if tokion was bought out, switched editors/publishing or what but they have ruined a once progressive, informative, world ...
