I've had this magazine for almost a decade now and it's gone through many changes and renovations through those years. Here though, I'll try to explain the aspects of the most recent phase of this magazine.
- There's a section dedicated exclusively to Wii Channels. Here, the staff will provide previews and reviews on wiiware and virtual console games. Being that wiiware previews/reviews aren't as widespread across the net as actual games, these insights might prove useful.
- There's also a very nifty chart keeping track of all games in development for Nintendo systems. I often refer to this chart as it is very convenient.
- The magazine maintains a good connection with readers and fans. There are the usual ... Read More:
I have been sucked in to getting this magazine twice for subscriptions simply because it was so cheap. Both times I found it to be just awful. If I found one interview in it that I was interested in it was lucky. And then the concept of having a famous person interview another famous person? Well that sounds like a novel concept but it usually really stinks and the interviews and interviewer prove to be inept. I gave it a second chance and it still does nothing for me. They will not get a third chance once this subscription runs out.

I've been getting Entertainment Weekly for about 10 years, and I've pretty much liked it the entire time. For a while, they had a problem with spoiling plots, but that seems to have been addressed. This magazine keeps me informed about the pop culture that I don't have enough time to experience first hand.
To be absolutely clear, I am a fan of P&W and if I were only rating them here, I'd give them 4 or 5 stars. My beef is with Amazon's advertising "up to 75% off" for subscriptions. I've checked the rates for VQR, Poetry, Writer's Digest, and Poets & writers, and I'm four for four: Amazon's rates are either exactly the same as those posted on these journals' websites, or (in the case of Writer's Digest and P&W) more expensive. It's nice, I guess, that Amazon is providing more exposure for these journals; nonetheless, for them to claim they're offering a discount, while not exactly a lie (since they're offering a discount over the per-copy price), is deceiving, as they don't seem to be offering a cheaper rate than that already offered by the journals. ... As the traditional print media contiues to lose ground to other news/entertainment sources, the coverage of issues must become more focused on what sells in the marketplace. Simply, the era of cutting-edge reporting in magazines has about run its course.
At one point, Vibe attempted to merge the more puff features of pop culture, with hard news and angles on artists not found in other competitors. But it now mostly relies on the puff over anything else.
Though the magazine does try to cover the independent music scene and continues to minimally attempt news stories, the pages are dominated by chart-topping artists, those bring pushed for stardom by the record companies and models marketing clothes and accessories.

I don't know who the writers are of this publication, however after reading a few issues I am almost positive they are brain damaged manatees. This magazine is only good for the listings, the rest of the magazine is worthless hippie dribble. What did you expect for $20 a year? I will use the rest of my issues as coasters. Save the money and your time.

Delivery has been reasonably good - a couple of missed days here and there.
It appears to do the job it's supposed to do. Some days though it's almost as
if nothing has really happened and they're stretching to fill it.
I haven't received the first issue of the magazine I ordered, so I am not in a position to review the product. I'm not expecting anything until the March issue. If I don't get that one (since I ordered before Christmas), then I'll expect some answers. OK for now.
This magazine is entirely geared toward the emo population. And not the the trend setting type (if there is such a thing), but the look-at-me-I'm-really-deep-and-dark-and-like-to-whine-and-don't-care-what-people-think-about-me-so-I-buy-my-clothes-at-HotTopic-and-am-most-likely-sixteen-or-younger-straight-up emo.

At a time when gas is $4.15 a gallon (where I live, anyway), 70 thousand people are losing jobs per month, and a $700 billion bailout is required from an already bankrupt nation; the last thing we as Americans need to worry about are which celebrities have the saggiest butts, guts, and nuts.
