I love this magazine, but it is cheaper on the Guideposts website. It's only 9.97 plus .97 cents for shipping for twelve issues. On here, it's 16.97 for one year. In fact, on their website, you can get TWO years for 17.97 there...just one dollar more. Save yourself some money and don't deal with Amazon on this one!!!

Because I find the TV series Ghost Hunters a fascinating television series (I have purchased all of the DVSs), I subscribed to TAPS magazine, expecting the magazine to focus on the scientific investigation of ghosts and the paranormal topics relevant to the specific episodes of the TV series. Instead, I discovered that the magazine focused less on Ghost Hunters and more on a conglomeration of folklore and unrelated paranormal topics that had nothing to do with the program. I stopped the subscription after one year. I'll just stick to the DVDs. If I want information on other paranormal topics, I'll look them up for free on the internet.

I have had a subscription for the past year and was extremely disappointed. I was looking for a magazine that would publish interviews of various painters working in various styles who would explain their techniques and experiences as working artists. I was, however, very disappointed. First, this magazine weirdly seems to be one long advertisement. That aside, the painters and pieces published are all based in realism. I have nothing against realism, but I was looking for a collection of diverse approaches. Something of a salon for painters. This is not what this magazine is aiming to achieve. This magazine would only be potentially useful for an inexperienced painter who is interested in painting classical realism.

Incredible in-depth look at the world of hockey by the best writers involved in the game. Published weekly during the season and every other week during the off season. Each team is featured in every issue along with great articles about individual players, teams and current hot topics. Also covered are major junior, college minor pro leagues. I look forward to each week when the mailman delivers a new issue. A must for the hockey lover!! Each subscription also includes the 'Bible of Hockey' which is an info packed yearbook covering all the teams, players and stats.

Delightfully educational, professionally presented - I learn from each articles and share the equisite advertisements with my friends. I recently received my first 2 magazines. They arrived pretty soon after I ordered. I enjoyed the articles and recipes that help you learn about living a healthier lifestyle. When I'm finished, I pass the issues on to my mom and sister.

FYI- This is a Brittish rag that is generally superficial in it's take on the music scene. They give brief reviews of numerous new and re-issue CDs like most, but they are highly comercial in their tone and there are more ads than not. They are obsessed with the retrospectoscope, that is they have a fetish with classic British bands (and some american artists). The CDs are a mixed bag: from mostly interesting to worthless drivel. They are almost always current bands doing covers of the British artist they are drooling over this month.
