AudioFile This magazine subscription came much faster than I expected. I received my first magazine within about two weeks. For any one who listens to audio books this magazine gives curreent reviews and has lots of advertisements. This will be a very helpful magazine in guiding me to future purchases of audio books.
A great resource for actors in the Los Angeles area. This is the place to really find out about auditions. I find some of the articles stagnant at times though. Wish they had a little bit more for voice over artists!
I have been a subscriber to The Progressive for nearly 4 years now; it is an excellent read for those on the left of the political spectrum. The Progressive is unapologetic in its support for truly Liberal (i.e. Progressive) Politics, pulls no punches when evaluating the Bush Dictatorship that we have been living under for nearly 8 years now. It does an excellent job of holding so-called (self-proclaimed) liberal politicians feet to the fire. Also does a nice job of highlighting certain states and cities that have truly progressive/liberal leaders holding the reigns. I would recommend this magazine to anyone interested in having a better understanding of our current political landscape.

Books and Culture is one of the few magazines I've found that woos me, as a Christian, into deeper, more thoughtful, Christ-centered engagement with academia, politics, culture, the media. Presenting articles and reviews by thinkers/academics/jourmalists from a wide range of the Christian doctrinal/confessional/political spectrum, it rigorously examines the trends and thoughts of our day in a way accessible to average idiots like me. Some of the best writing I've seen on issues the Church needs to grapple with is found here.
I look forward to every issue, and have neither kept nor thrown away any of them -- they all end up in the hands of friends.

The Texas Observer is the kind of critical news paper that should be required reading by anyone who has reached teen-age and/or older. Most people read words but don't attempt to understand their meaning, but the authors of articles in the Observer write on subjects that should be near and dear to those living in Texas and words of warning to those living in other states. It's unfortunate that many articles describe the results of things perpetrated by unscrupulous persons but are eagerly used by others as a plan of action in their own state. It's too bad my state, Missouri, has no such publication.
Being a former theatre assistant manager and one who enjoys
keeping tabs with the progress of the theatre industry and
the reviews of up and coming movies, I find Boxoffice
Magazine to be the print of choice.
This should come as no surprise to regular readers who, for decades, have enjoyed the timely and professional write-ups that appear each month. The yearly subscription rate through amazon.com
is at a bargain with the opportunity to renew at the same rate available on a yearly basis.
If you speak the world of movie language, talk smart,
take Boxoffice!

"true detective" is a classic old magazine. my 83 year old father in law loved seeing it again. an early father's day gift. he read it from front to back in a day. we were surprized to see it was shipped from England! my mother in law and i split the cost. it was well worth the money to order it, because he "truely" enjoyed it! thanks! lynn
