I'm a bit new to watercolor (or at least taking it seriously), but I've found this magazine to be an excellent help in the process of making art. The interviews and articles are informative and detailed in the processes of the art making and there's a good spread of different information in every issue. Sometimes books are a bit daunting for me, and there's not enough time to absorb all the information, but this format makes it easier for me to learn techniques. I find myself reading an article at a time and then remembering that information later when I'm painting with ease... It's also nice to have a variety of artists to learn from in every issue. Biblical Archaeology Review

What more can you want out of an archeology magazine that is directed toward both lay readership and experts? It is well written in a clear and concise way. It covers archaeological topcis from around the world in a fair and even-handed way. It also discusses topics that are of keen importance to those who are interested in preserving the past, such as use of unprovenanced artifacts. There is even occasional discussion on what we must do to ensure that future archaeologists are not left in the lurch. I truly enjoyed reading about why, for this reason, we should not disturb early man-made satellites.

Nintendo Power

I've had this magazine for almost a decade now and it's gone through many changes and renovations through those years. Here though, I'll try to explain the aspects of the most recent phase of this magazine.

- There's a section dedicated exclusively to Wii Channels. Here, the staff will provide previews and reviews on wiiware and virtual console games. Being that wiiware previews/reviews aren't as widespread across the net as actual games, these insights might prove useful.

- There's also a very nifty chart keeping track of all games in development for Nintendo systems. I often refer to this chart as it is very convenient.

HOW Magazine is great! It is a fantastic reference and guide for graphic designers and artists. It is on the cutting edge but also appreciates the early designers. The advice is from first hand successful designers and is informative and true to life. I highly recommend the magazine to anyone wanting to stay ahead of the graphic design game.

My mom got me this mag for a christmas present. I loved the first one that had a whole section of the best kids books. I thought it was a feature but it wasn't. They do have a section that I love that puts new (and some old) music, books, movies, and toys into color schemes for different ages and a review of these products. They also have some great features about how to plan a unique party and some dinner ideas as well as some cover articles that I enjoyed, but so much of it is fashion and makeup and things that are so expensive (some of it kids clothes and yes the models look cute but for my daughter who likes to be able to move and get dirty, it just isn't for our family.) I have been sucked in to getting this magazine twice for subscriptions simply because it was so cheap. Both times I found it to be just awful. If I found one interview in it that I was interested in it was lucky. And then the concept of having a famous person interview another famous person? Well that sounds like a novel concept but it usually really stinks and the interviews and interviewer prove to be inept. I gave it a second chance and it still does nothing for me. They will not get a third chance once this subscription runs out.
