I have been a fan of Teacher's Helper for years. If I had to give up all but one of my teacher subscriptions, this is the one I would keep. This magazine has just what I need to reinforce and reteach skills. The editors are right on target with the skill set. Each new issue is filled with material I need and can use immediately. Very high quality product!
I originally purchased Piensa as a supplement reading material for my husband who is taking Spanish. It seems to be a little difficult to find reading materials in Spanish for adults, and this magazine is really fun to read. It has a monthly recipe (which I liked!) and vocabulary words on each side for the article with which one is reading. It is a super concept, and am very glad we found it on Amazon!

I have been receiving Brio for a little more than four years. I am now about to turn 17 and have upgraded to Brio and Beyond. To be honest it surprised and disappointed me to see some of the reviews that brio got. It's pretty safe to say that if you want a "right" review about brio, then turn to a present reader, and a current teenager.
First off, let me begin by saying that I don't think that I could give brio enough thank you's. It makes me laugh to myself when I see how people take magazines like brio for granted, calling it "brainwashing," "morality in disguise," or "Christian claptrap." If this was the case, I would have chucked my subscription out awhile ago. Yes, I admit that there are things in the magazine that I have my own beliefs about, ... Read More:
Gives new (and old) ideas to start faithful traditions in your family. Inspiring accounts of people living and/or converting to the Catholic faith. Refreshingly faithful to the magisterium. A great gift for a young Catholic family.
Memory Makers Magazine promises "a community of ideas and inspiration primarily for scrapbooking", and the magazine does a good job hitting their target. Memory Makers is published nine times a year by F&W Publications, and sells at a reasonable price. The newsstand cover price is $5.95, but a yearly subscription can go as low as $2 - $3 per issue if you search for discounts. The magazine does not undertake anything ambitious, just creative layouts that are doable for your average scrapbooker.
Scrapbooking subjects are tackled by dividing them into three departments: community, ideas, and inspiration. Community includes Journaling Spot, On the Web, Reader Mail, ScrapHappenings, and Great Finds. Ideas cover Calendar, Digital Design, Focus on Images, True ... Read More:
Grit is one of my favorite bimonthly country living magazines. It's a magazine that celebrates the rural community. There are always a wonderful variety of articles. Just some of the article subjects are on gardening, fruit growing, food preservation, farm lifestyle, tips on farming & animal caretaking, cooking and short stories. One of my favorite sections of Grit is the 'Looking For...' section, where readers send in requests looking for pen pals, patterns, food recipes or anything else they are looking for. The advertisements don't swamp out the features, so that's a plus as well.

As an aficionado of all things historic, old, and traditional, I subscribed to "The Saturday Evening Post." I was disappointed by what I received. With the exception of the excellent illustrations by Norman Rockwell, the magazine was largely advertisements for prescription medications and puff pieces about popular actors, authors, and other celebrities. This is not a worthy heir to the legacy of its founder, Benjamin Franklin, and the many gifted and talented individuals who have been associated with the magazine throughout its history. Simply put, it was not worth the price of a subscription.
