The Live Version Of Keep On Chooglin Totally Rocks !!! After You Buy This To Start, Then Go Order All The John Fogerty Solo CD's (7) In All, And His Brothers CD The Best Of Tom Fogerty ! This Will Finish Up This Bands Talent !

Chronicle, Vol. 1: The 20 Greatest Hits

Credence Clearwater Revival and John Fogerty are classic rock at its best, a mixture of blues, rock and catchy songwriting created memorable songs that still have people singing these today.

This is a good collection of many of their hits and well known songs and I put it on the CD player for my children and they now are singing along.

Chronicle Vol. 2: Twenty Great CCR Classics

I scanned all the reviews here on Amazon before buying Chronicle Vol 2. I'd been inspired by hearing "Walk on Water" many times on Amazon and decided to buy the collection instead of CCR's eponymous first album. That was a mistake.
This collection clearly appeals to committed fans, as is true for nearly all reviews I see on Amazon. I found it mediocre, at best. "Walk on Water" has passion, a wide vocal range and nice changes of pace. The rest of this 2 CD set is forgettable.

Feel free to mark this review as "not useful" -- I do it often myself when reviews are not informative. Sorry if this review offends your sensibilities but it's not a vote on whether CCR was a great band: it was, and John Fogerty's put out some good ... Read More:

Mardi Gras

While John Fogerty was at the helm CCR sold record after record. They were at the top. That wasn't good enough for brother Tom who quits the band. Other members Doug Clifford and Stu Cook were busy yelling I can sing I can write songs. John gave in and said do it and more or less walked away from what he knew would be a disaster. And it was. Others that follow a genius might find they are better off in doing so. I gave this a big thumbs down when it first came out and still do.

Best of Creedence Clearwater Revival

Do you really need to be coaxed into purchasing Creedance Clearwater?? LOL... This one is an awesome CD. I just received it two days ago, as a replacement to the cassette I'd been listening to for years... (yep, I did say "cassette" - remember those?? lol!)) So if I've bought it twice - you know it must be GREAT! :)

The Concert

This is the CCR live album to get, if you want to hear them really playing live and doing their songs just like their records, but faster. In this way, they were a very 60's type band. It was kind of cute this swamp rock thing. Sound quality is good enough, so enjoy an hour of CCR.

The Best of Creedence Clearwater Revival

This double cd set has many great songs. The two star rating I'm giving it is mostly because of the sound quality. I bought the cd set expecting a better audio experience than an mp3 format can attain. Well what a disapointment it was when I played it in my car and on my computer. The mix was muffled and of poor quality. If you're looking for a trip down memory lane with old 45s quality, then this may work for you! From now on I'll look for that magic word known as "Remastered".

Live in Europe

I read a couple of the reviews that accuse Fantasy of "faking" the live aspect of this album by dubbing in the audience. I've never noticed that, and I've had this album since 1973, when it was first released on vinyl.
Granted, the Cd version does short change the listener by leaving off a couple of songs, but that is easily remedied by purchasing the vinyl copy
if you can find one. The thing I want to say about the album and the tour from which it came is, why couldn't Creedence replace Tom and his rhythm guitar for at leat the duration of the tour? Creedence always had an uncomplicated sound to begin with, and the absence of a second guitar does reveal the simplicity of their sound so why not pull in a player for the tour.

Bayou Country

If you buy ANY Creedence Clearwater Revival CDs, look for a release date of September 30, 2008. After FINALLY making peace with Fantasy records, the CCR catalog has gotten the remastering treatment, along with several live bonus tracks. In addition, these new downloads are actually CHEAPER than the others!

Bayou Country was MY introduction to CCR, and as such it and my second purchase, Willy and the Poorboys, will always remain my favorites. I downloaded this, then Willy, then said "what the heck" and went ahead and got Green River, the self-titled debut, and Cosmo's Factory. ALL FIVE are great and come highly recommended. Trust me, if you get one, you're gonna want all five...

GREAT STUFF! And much improved audio!
