Once upon a Christmas

I've listened to this CD since I was young and it brings back such warm memories of home and family at Christmastime. (Although I listen to it all year round :) It would not be Christmas without Kenny and Dolly. Just hearing Dolly's sweet voice makes me smile every time without fail. If you want the best Christmas CD EVER, then this is the one for you! You will NOT be disappointed!

This is Dolly Parton's first true mainstream release in 17 years and also her first disc on her own label. All I can say is BRAVO !!! This set will definitely please her diehard fans and surely gain her some new ones. Her vocal performance here is top notch and she puts her heart and soul in each track. This is certainly not an artist resting on her laurels. It shows why she is the Queen of Country.

There are pure country tracks, some pop country and some remakes as well. The cd gets a great uplift with the life affirming, toe tapping tracks BETTER GET TO LIVIN and JESUS @ GRAVITY. Trio II (Two)

Some people are complaining about the duplication of songs on this cd and Linda Ronstadt's Feels Like Home cd. When these tracks were recorded, there were conflicts with schedules and an argument took place between Ms. Parton and Ms. Ronstadt (I remember reading an article that Dolly told the details). After the feud, the recordings were shelved and it looked very grim that this cd would ever be released. Ms. Ronstadt's company was pushing for a cd to release and since there didn't seem to be any hope of another Trio recording, she used the tracks of her and Ms. Harris (and in her linear notes on her cd, she thanks Ms. Harris for her loyalty because of the feud between her and Dolly.) The Very Best of Dolly Parton

I found this CD very enjoyable. It brought back a lot of warm childhood memories. No one sings quite like Dolly. There were a few songs I was unfamiliar with, but all in all I loved the CD as did my child. We were both toe tapping and trying to sing along.

I loved the movie and my basset hound sang along to a few of the tunes in the movie; however she (the basset) did not respond at all to the music from the sound track, and this was a little disappointing, but I liked it a great deal.

If you like Dolly you have to have this, it is Great. I have played it so much I think I need a new one. The selection of songs is very good, from fast moving to her slower ones. I highly recommend this CD.

Slow Dancing with the Moon

Love this CD. Great price for some great music! My favorite song is ROMEO, it brings back alot of good childhood memories. SLOW DANCING WITH THE MOON is awesome too. This is one of Dolly's best and a must have for all fans, and even for lovers of 90's Country music!
