Foo Fighters in my opinion took a nose dive previously on "In Your Honor". Skip two years to 07' and we have another Foo album to submerge ourselves into. Thankfully I managed to really take a liking to this one.
The variety of songs is much better then 'IYH', avoiding the categorizing process the last album strained and nit picked to the final bits (to the point you got dry hard rock, or dynamic free acoustic). Echoes eases up an intro, The Pretender, suitable to be "Stairway To Heavens" alternate take. Once you're comfortable with the chiming guitar, a wall of bricks is bound to hit you in the Foo's universe. Displaying such tight hard rock driven guitar, and overall fantastic musicianship, it could put a grin on ones face. My ... Read More:

Good set from a good group that has continued to grow and expand their work. Set includes "My Hero" which has been used in the 2008 Presidential race. Interestingly, in 2008, Senator Hillary Clinton earned more Votes than any other Presidential Primary candidate in American history (hillaryclintonforum, the denver group)

brilliant!! unsurpassable by Foo's standards. this CD didnt quickly become a favorite of mine until i found myself constantly grabbing it if i was going somewhere for a long drive or if it was nice out. i dunno why i just really liked it.
disk 2 stayed in its case for more than a year before i listened to it after the first time i got it. i remember thinking, ok this is good, better than i remembered and then after a few spins within a few days it hit me that it was actually AWESOME, the songs are so so good. On The Mend being a favorite of mine and undoubtly one of my all time fav Foo songs.

I just recently got There Is Nothing Left to Lose, and I think it is one of the Foos best records they have done. It starts of good with Stacked actors, which is good, and then Generator and personaly, my favorite song, Aurora. All of the songs are really good and catchy. The last 3 songs are really good, Aint It the Life is a really good catchy song that sounds like it could be a b-side or another part of Big Me. All In all i love this album, and if you are a foo fan get it. I recentyl saw them live, and it was an amazing concert.

I have owned this album since it came out, and after two subsequent releases, I would say One by One still has the hardest and darkest songs you can find by the Foos. And if you followed the Foo Fighters each step like I have, it's one of those albums that you buy and are slightly disappointed at first because the last one was so thoroughly great (There is Nothing Left to Lose is still my favorite). Quite frankly, as an album it is uneven. The first four songs, All My Life, Low, Have It All, and Times Like These are so hard hitting and fast tempo-ed that the rest of the album feels slow. But those four songs are greatest hits material, and will be staples for Foo Fighters concerts for as long as the band plays. As for the rest of the album, the songs aren't terribly ... Read More:
A good argument the multi-talented Grohl and his new project as guitarist-singer in this more-poppy-but-still-plenty-rocking band was poised for longevity, but undoubtedly starts off stronger then concluding.

The x-files album was pretty dumb. It didn't have any actual x-files music, just some bands trying to sound mysterious. None of it was by Mark Snow, so that was dissapointing. The music is weird and has nothing to do with the movie at all.

I had the pleasure of getting to shake Dave Grohl's hand behind the stage at Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI) on the Colour and the Shape tour on July 5, 1997. I was keenly aware that TCATS was an amazing album at the time, but the perspective of another 10 years passed has revealed just how incredible the record is from start to finish. Never again have the Foos really recaptured the feeling, the lyric qualities, and the ability to rock with emotion found on this album (though Echoes is a close second).
With unforgettable songs like "Monkeywrench" and "Everlong" and a slew of amazing songs that never saw the light of day on the radio but were indeed radio-worthy especially compared with the junk out there today, The Colour and the Shape is a solid album. Anyone who's ... Read More:
