Nowhere on Earth are you going to find a better live album produced this Centry. Joe has been tearing up stages for nearly 20 years. This set is indicative of where he is at at this particular time in his career. Even though this recording what pieced together from a few different shows recorded in late 2007 it plays seemlessly.
Having seen Joe numerous times I at first thought the crowd seemed a little distant. Joe's crowds can get pretty vocal at times. With the crowd noise kept to a minimum it doesn't seem to interfere with the moments captured here.
The production of this live opus was handled by none other than Kevin Shirley most noted for recent work remastering the Led Zepelin DVD How The West Was Won. Kevin ... Read More:

Joe, I luv ya', but when an artist stoops to orchestration it tells me he has nothing else to say. I'm afraid Joe is taking the same path Johnny Lang took. Say it ain't so JOE !!

On "You And Me" Joe moves back into blues territory albeit a mix of electric blues and classic rock that had it's hey day back in the late 60's and early 70's. Comparisons to bands of the era like Cream, Ten Years After, or Robin Trower would be appropriate. In fact Bonamassa does an absolutely scorching cover of Led Zeppelin's "Tea For One" that in many ways rivals the original. "You And Me" is a mix of blues covers and originals. Joe pulls in some heavyweight accompaniment on this one with Jason Bonham on drums and Carmine Rojas (Rod Stewart, Nektar) on bass. This is another stellar album from Bonamassa which should please anyone who is a fan of fiery blues guitar and vocals.

Joe Bonamassa was a child guitar prodigy who grew up with and has carried on the tradition of, the blues. This album from 2002 is blues influenced, but not traditional blues for the most part. This is a hard rock showcase with blues as a common denominator. Bonamassa is an incredible guitarist and also has a good voice. Joe wrote all of the tracks on this disc proving that he can write good lyrics as well as music. Most of the songs on this album are in the 3 to 4 minute range which tends to keep his guitar restrained a bit, but he does pull out all the stops on the 10 minute plus "Pain And Sorrow" which is one of the highlights of the disc. Bonamassa's influence seem to be Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix and other obvious mentors, but he has also been known ... Read More:
