The Way I See It

What a great tribute to the Motown sounds! This man really was inspired by all the wonderful tunes that came from all the phenominal artists of Detroit. He has written songs that evoke great memories of my growing up in the '60's. When I first heard LOVE THAT GIRL I thought it was a real oldie I just had never heard before. His duet with Joss Stone reminds me of Marvin and Tammi. I just have to give him point off for including Jay-Z on the last cut. I am not a rap fan, sorry. Maybe for his next CD he can tackle the Sounds of Philadelphia.

I am partial to the second cd, of the pair. But, I love live performances because you see the true talent and versatility of the artist.
All Raphael Saadiq fans, this is a must have; and for all others who just love good music, buy it!

Higher Learning: Music From The Motion Picture

A double shot of pianist-siren Amos steals the show in what was a marketable mix of (mostly) boring rap, bland R&B, and serviceable rock with a few other worthwhile contributions (Outkast circa Atliens and Rage before Evil Empire dropped to name the obvious ones) made this album enticing when it was released.

This album goes in a different direction than instant vintage. It's got a more positive and upbeat feel to it. Instant Vintage has more of a laid back and realistic (lack of a better word) feel to it. Both albums are great and anything from him and tony tone toni are amazing but I really feel this one a little bit more than instant vintage. It's definitely a funky positive sound.

at first listen I though this song was Good but as time went by it feel off for me.I Like the Lyrics but the Music&there Voices didn't blend all that well for me.

This CD is one of the best I've heard in the past 5 years.
If you enjoyed his music and soulful voice with the Tonies, this is a double treat. Its worth the purchase. Do your self a favor and buy this CD. Just think how many albums you purchased in the last year or so that you can listen to continuously. I know that I haven't heard too many. Let that be your motivation.
