Jeff Dunham is a constant as an entertainment option in our household and we have seen Jeff with his friends live twice. The CD though, less than entertaining as it shows the difficulty of keeping voices in character and singing. Jingle Bombs is the best on the CD- which everyone can watch somewhere else while the rest of the CD's adult humor doesn't work for kids and even less for adults. I bought as a combo purchase with The Christmas DVD or I wouldn't have gotten it at all.
Again, LOVE Jeff- not the CD.

Bought this for my husband, but have to tell ya, that Jim is hilarious. I was laughing almost throughout this c.d. His, "Hot Pockets" skit alone is worth the price of the c.d. I also enjoyed how he does his, "what the audience is thinking" part ( he says what he thinks some mild mannered librarian/granny/whomever is thinking when he does his comedy act ). If you're not a fan, it may be better to rent this ( go to the library, for 50 cents you can hear it ), but if you're a fan, you will laugh again and again.

This collection is about McCoy Tyner playing with 5 very different fretted string players (4 guitars, 1 banjo). It's not so much about what the guitarist do, per se. All of the guest do what it is that they do. Bill Frisell plays with an economy of notes, tossing in county and blues chords and riffs and playing in a cool understated groove. Derek Trucks played like a real good blues player. etc... All the guest are great players and if you don't like any of them, chances are you won't like thier contribution on this collection either.
One thing is for sure; John Scofield and McCoy Tyner smoke. For the other players, you could feel McCoy adaping to the groove of the guitar/banjo player. With Scofield there was no adaptation nessesary. ... Read More:

I really enjoyed this Mitch Hedberg cd. I listen to it all the time. Its SO sad that he is no longer with us. If you liked his first two albums, you will also enjoy this one. RIP Mitch

Herbie Hancock takes classic Joni Mitchell tunes and makes them his own. Who knew that it would work so well? My favorite track is Court and Spark featuring Norah Jones on vocals. This is spell-binding. I heard this track on a plane, and immediately ordered the album. The rest of it is not quite as breath-taking, but well worth it, especially if you like jazz, and grew up on Joni Mitchell.

I thought 2006's "Mythologies" was one of the most creative "jazz" recordings ever, and one of the best c.d.'s of that year. When I heard that Ms. Barber was going from that Guggenheim-funded project to a c.d. of Cole Porter covers, I thought, "Huh?"
But in a weird sort of way, it makes sense. Say what you will about Patricia Barber: this is an artist who pushes the envelope. And discovering how to make new and fresh an idea that has been done a thousand times before is, in its own way, a creative challenge.
And Patricia Barber succeeds. Here's why:
In previous recordings, I've noted that Patricia Barber is like a singing Mrs. Robinson - one who sings with a detached cool that masks a profound amount of emotion. Here, ... Read More:

This item is very difficult to rate, as some will love it and most will not care for it. Do not buy this item unless you are a serious Gonzophile who is interested in Hunter's actual process in creating stories, as well as getting some insight into the realities of his life.
Do not buy it if you expect lots of gonzo bad craziness on the tapes: The Vegas portions are pretty pedestrian. Even when he is stoned, you are not experiencing the powerful internal experience; you are listening to it from the outside, and it can sound somewhat tired. You do get a couple interesting hints about how much was real and what really happened, but you have to listen carefully. This is Hunter Thompson the person, not Raoul Duke the personna.

After I found The Whammy for Babies: Vacuum Cleaner Sounds to Soothe Colic and Fussiness which helps to relieve colic, I was on the lookout for more CDs with which to help soothe my baby. I found this one and really like it. Where it doesn't necessarily help ebb the colic like the other, it does soothe, so using it in the car or whereever was the thing for us. A recommend.

Enjoyed the content but a bit disappointed. The original was a 33 1/3 RPM Recording that had a lot more content. I judge this CD to only contain about one-half of what was on the recording.
