Just when you think to yourself, how could these guys out do what they've already done, could they really get any better? Third Day has done just that! I love when a band is willing to reinvent themselves and take risks.
This new project is unquestionable Third Days best work spiritually, both in music and more so in lyrics. To be a christian and not have this cd in your collection of annointed songs to encourage and minister to you would be to miss out on such a blessing from God, and with Revelation i'm lead for God to show me what to do, because i've asked God to take it all!

Brandon Heath's light, familiar style is on display on this album. Heath's strength is combining poppy tunes with deep lyrics. "What If We" is a prime example of this talent.

In "Give Me Your Eyes" Heath asks God for the vision to see those around him, including the downtrodden, poor, and brokenhearted. It is the lead single from the album, and is a refreshing break from "me" centered Christianity. "Wait and See" is a little biographical, with Heath reminding himself that God has a plan for his life. "Trust You" is especially revealing, describing all of our reasons for not trusting God. I totally enjoyed the dvd, especially the song "healing" it moved me so much!! I wanted to know more about the writer/artist and how he was doing. I was so sad to learn that he lied about the cancer, it ruined the song for me, ruined the dvd, I can't watch it - I know people say, look beyond it, forgive him - no problem - he didn't SIN against me, no need for my forgiveness... I am not mad at him.

The issue is that watching the dvd lost the integrity (whole-ness) of the worship experience (when they, behind the scenes, put so much emphasis on the song and the writer "this is the most genuine our church has worshiped" or words to that effect - Darlene says) just seeing the people respond, so sincerely throughout the "concert" makes me sad. ... Switchfoot is certainly a driving force within the realm of Christian Rock, and after six albums, they've certainly cemented their place. So in-between their current crossroads, they want to make sure you know they're still around, so they've put out a best-of album. And of course, as is the case with all best-ofs, they open a can of worms to wiggle about.

But the usual pitfall is avoided here, by coming out with a strong set of songs that represent the vastness of Switchfoot. A strong set of 18 tracks anchor the release, almost maxing out the allowed time for a CD, but they add nothing you've never heard before. I normaly buy 1 CD of CHRISTmas music each year. This one is tied for #1 for my all time favorite CHRISTmas CD's, which is saying allot since I have about 25 other CHRISTmas cd's. Well worth the price...
