As with every product, there's good and bad aspects. The very good is this is 12 brand new winter songs--not retreads of the same old traditionals, which seem to be the fodder of most of the Christmas offerings. And a neat dozen songs timing out at 44.9 minutes, which is more than a lot of new albums offer nowadays.

The music is the ethereal atmospheric tone you have come to expect from Enya. If you like this type of music, you are going to love the CD.

I would like to see Enya grow and add some different instruments and musical styles to her repertoire, but honestly, for what it is, the CD is very good.

If you enjoy Celtic music, this is a must. Some good old standards done with humor, gusto and haunting harmonies. It's a "must have" if only for the rendition of "The Parting Glass". Don't pass this one by! Product was just as described by the vendor and shipping was without problems. Be sure and check out the DVD version as well. There are always treats that are missed on the CD alone.

while I agee that for a Donovan Fan this set is Fantastic,If Don comes
off with a ego ,let him be ,He never gets the respect a artist of his talent should.
As for this set,Sure its great,sure its long,but the one
thing that seems to happen with most of these things is the clips aren't allowed to play through,they are mostly edited .Yes a few are on the
nice extra dvd.But far too many aren't ,Wheres the rest of the BBC
in Concert(which looks like a Dub here)
But clips most cost a lot of money,so maybe thats what happened

After the Hard and the Easy and a very welcome return to the salt, sea and shores of Newfoundland found in those playful and traditional style songs by the greatest band on earth, I was a little put off by my first few listens to this newest effort. The songs sound good and are well produced but I was a little bored about half way through by, what seemed to me, to be lots of the same old thing. I know it is in vogue to recycle these days, but not when it comes to music. I'm still not sure after a few more listens if this is a good album or not, but I don't hate it as much as I thought I would.
The Bad: Too many attempts at "rock" songs. "Life is Beautiful" is the only GBS cd I don't own and there is a very good reason for that. The guys aren't pop stars and we, ... Read More:

I have fibromyalgia and use audio-visual biofeedback for pain management. This is absolutely beautiful in its own right, but it also works well for my biofeedback. I am so thankful for having found this group and their music!

I heard about this project very early in the year, {it was leaked from a well known British Folk Rock band's website.} And, as it was known in the history books that production of the second Fotheringay record was in it's earliest stages when Sandy Denny decided to leave her bandmates for a proper solo career, I had no idea of what form {finished or unfinished} these songs, would be in.

With so much work done in many studios by guitarist/producer Jerry Donahue, I cannot find fault in his labor in getting such high quality instumental backing that really invokes the real Fotheringay sound from this. The problem here, is that the two main singers of this band, Sandy Denny and Trevor Lucas recorded: "guide vocals" and never returned to finish and complete their work ... Read More:
