This set contains almost exactly what I wanted. The most important releases by one of my favorite bands, remixed in 5.1 surround. But there's quite a bit more than that.
It also contains nearly all of the existing video footage of the band from that time. Let that soak in. Most of it is in better quality than ever seen before. I think my VHS copy of the Midnight Special performance might be in better shape than theirs, but that's a minor complaint.
The set also contains the recently rediscovered Jackson Tapes. This was a 1970 recording session for a documentary about the painter Michael Jackson. In this recording, you can hear the compositional beginnings of The Fountain of Salmacis, Anyway, and the Musical ... Read More:

Rush is one of the greatest rock bands ever (hello Hall of Fame! Rush should be in the Hall of Fame by now) and I can't wait to pop these discs into my DVD player, IF I don't scratch the discs' surfaces. This has the same horrible packaging as Cheap Tricks' new "Budokan!" box. The CDs are incredibly snug in cardboard slits, all in a flimsy package. No clam shell case or even slimline jewel cases here. Just a flimsy cardboard package with no trays whatsoever, so every time you do get the discs out, they will scratch, no matter how careful you are. It's frustrating that labels keep having ANTI-JEWEL CASE FEVER and keep issuing things that will scratch after just a few days. Bring back the jewel cases, please. Which is worse for the environment, stacks and ... Read More:

This is a MUST for any Pink Floyd / David Gilmour fan. Some of the last DVD glimpses of Rick Wright. Great sound quality and picture on both the CD and DVD. I know there is a five disk set out there...and am curious to see if it's better or has more songs? This four disk set is great and you can't beat the price.

I like Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Their first CD (CHRISTMAS EVE AND OTHER STORIES) is easily one of my top ten favorite Christmas albums. (Maybe even top five.) Two years ago, my wife and I had the pleasure of seeing them in a sold-out concert performance in Houston. And I hope they continue to make great Christmas music in the future, although I've heard that LOST CHRISTMAS EVE will be their final venture into the Christmas music arena.
LOST CHRISTMAS EVE will not disappoint anyone who loves hard rock instrumental. It will, in fact, disappoint only a few Christmas music enthusiasts who enjoy a wide variety of Christmas music; and anyone who does is probably already a TSO fan to some degree. LCE has some true power-house songs such as "Christmas ... Read More:

Love most of the album then and now. Didn't really understand, though, how much coulda been used elsewhere (like the "White Album"), and how much - not alot - came from other places: Come Together with its' Chuck Berry reference really driving the whole thing; Something, impossible without James Taylor's classic; Oh Darling, yet another Little Richard tribute while Richard was without a recording contract.
Some other curiosities: Mean Mr. Mustard & Maxwell's Silver Hammer (c'mon Paul!); I Want You (She's So Heavy) - a nice soundtrack for a bad Buster Crabbe pirate movie.
Which leaves up with the gems: above mentioned classic A and B side; Here Comes The Sun, You Never Give Me Your Money, Because.
And just like the double-album, we're left with ... Read More:

With all due respect to all you people who loved TSO, I think you should wake up and go straight to the nearest CD store and buy Savatage albums and give it a listen because TSO=Savatage! and Basically the Christmas Eve/Sarajevo song is basically a song on the Dead winter dead album for Savatage! Even Back to a reason II is the same Back to a Reason song sung by Jon Oliva in Poets and Madmen album for SAVATAGE! So,, why does TSO get the credit and Savatage doesnt! Is this Fair!

For an album to be so meagre in depth there are many words to spend.
To begin with, to claim this piece of crap is a 'messed-up-piece' only shows a severe lack of knowledge and wisdom, to take that Benny my man!
Secondly for a CD so painfully preposterous there is no validation and right to exist under the sun moon and stars.
How utterly dreadful that (again!!) the dumb masses be enchanted by this unwiped *** of an album.
It is cruelly misappropriate to barf any cliched compliments over this swine of swines.
I wish I could destroy this CD on the first day of its smelly 'breathe'.
