Let me preface this with my bias -- I absolutely adore Judy Collins and think that her original songs rank among the greatest material ever produced by a singer/songwriter. I was very excited to hear about this project and greatly looked forward to hearing these wonderful songs interpreted by such a wide array of artists.
The reality is, however, that this is a tribute album. Like all tribute albums, it is uneven. Some performances are better than others, and some artists appeal to me while others don't. Unlike most tribute albums, this one is pretty good overall -- chalk that up to the quality of the songs.
Particularly good, in my opinion, are the performances by Shawn Colvin, Dar Williams, Rufus Wainwright and ... Read More:

so why did i sleep on this? I love the CD Stay, as with all Simply Red Cd's. I keep for getting that Simply Red is a group, not a person. I first heard this song while switching up ipods in my car. As I was doing this the radio came on, and i hear this nice beat, and the voice of lead singer of Simply Red, so i am thinking, I know the voice, but did not recall the song, as I have all the CD's of Simply Red. So i had to hear the entire song, as another person is singing,, and later to find out it's Bobby Blue Bland. I had to search the net for any new simply red stuff. I could not find it until i did a search for the song 'Up the Road'. Bang! I found it, so i see this is the lead singer of simply red, and this has been out since the summer. I had to ... Read More:

After listening to the Lamb as many years as I have and played I don't know how many of these tunes in my bands in the past, but we "diehard" Genesis fan become much too critical if someone tries to pay tribute to this great band. Rewiring Genesis is one of those close tribute Cd's that I did not throw out of my car window. Listen to it as an expression of the artists. Now you bass players like me will go freakin nuts like I did. This bass player does not use BASS PEDALS. Sounds like he is playing a 5 ,possibly 6 string bass. The songs done by Nick D'Virgilio(drums) and his band are good in some spots , but then very bad to try to change the texture of a tune. Like "counting out time" has a very "New Orleans"
type feel, just does not cut it. There were some ... Read More:

I ordered this CD on September 19th and as of today --October 25th I still DO NOT have the CD. Was told it was mailed on October 1st--so where

First time (and a long time buyer of Amazon.com) that I have had a problem
with anything being delivered in a very timely fashion.
Still waiting for the CD or a credit to my account.

I have followed the music of Rory Block for years and have seen her perform 23 times in several countries. Never once have I been disappointed. This cd is another in a long list of blues that comes from her heart. Her adaptation of Son House's music captures his feelings and intertwines them with her own. Combined with the versatility of her voice and the awe of her guitar work, a blues fan will be elated listening to this cd. A Rory Block fan will be ecstatic and surely fall asleep at night smiling.

I originally bought this CD half as a joke but I was certainly surprised how good it really was. Seu Jorge is a vocal magician who made my bob my head on every song. If you enjoy foreign music, or if you are just a fan of David Bowie this album is a great addition to your collection.

I found it pointless when they released "Meet the Smithereens" and I find this new release to be equally pointless. Their original material is great, there's no doubt about that. It's the cover tunes which just don't make it, IMHO. Pat's vocals sound hazy and lifeless. While the musicianship is much improved over "Meet the Smithereens," it's still not up to snuff with many Beatles tribute bands. I hope that Pat and the boys release some new "Smithereens" music; that's where their true talents can be found.

My grandson calls it baby music but I find it very relaxing to fall asleep by at the end of a busy day. Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Rendition of The Cure.

This is one of the DVD's which I used to listed very often. May be in a relaxed evening, busy times, while driving, and the music refreshes you all the time. Title after title, more and more you listen further you get loved and impressed by the manner the music is presented.
Lovely piece of work !!! Recommended for musical lovers to buy.
