Give Up features 10 tracks of what will, in the future, be considered a classic. Ben Gibbard and Tamborello have tapped into the electro pop genre, but keep a very chill feel to the overall record. Standout tracks for me were "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" and "Such Great Heights." Never a dull moments, keeps full attention, while keeping one relaxed, and best of all the album was crafted and polished by tracks being sent back and forth to each other through... The Postal Service.

I have considered Squarepusher to be one the more exciting and interesting things going on in music this past decade. I was also happy to come across an LP version of this album which includes a very cool poster with a very cool and far out essay by Square himself.
But alas...the great possibilities of this album are not realized. I see some other reviewers liked it but I thought it totally sucked. It sounds like [...] Surfers meets King Crimson micro waved with a thin slice of weak house music sounds. It has Sqaurepusher's sense of humor and I also admire artists that try new things and try to surprise their audience but I didn't like this at all. Some of it even sounds like a crappy Black Sabbath sample looping. Awful.

The dark ambient sounds layered in light beat makes the music infinately enjoyable. Tons of rythmic tones and cords to pick apart and enjoy from every song, over and over again.

Music Has the Right to Children's flow isn't as strong as Geogaddi's, but the quality tracks are present. The most trip-hop apparent full-length album by the duo. Key tracks are: roygbiv, Aqaurius, and Happy Cycling.
A lot of interlude tracks detract from an otherwise solid album. Some of the interlude tracks are extremely enjoyable though, see: Kaini Industries and Smokes Quantity.

This is, undoubtedly, the best electronica album of all time. I Love this album. All of the songs. Period. From someone who has been in the music industry professionally, I have heard lots of music. And when it come to Aphex Twin, and any other in this genre, it ROCKS.

I bought this because it was listed on Pitchfork as the best album of 2006. I was skeptical, but bought anyway. My music vocabulary isn't extent enough tto describe the layered greatness of this album. By far the best thing I've heard in the last six months. If you love electronic beats, get it!

I've been belaying this review for a long time. Since the album has been around for six years, I'm already late, but I've only been listening to it for three, so I'm only half as late as some.
I've read some of the lowest rated reviews, and some of them have good points: "This is not Music Has a Right to Children," "It's weird," "It's evil," and "It's garbage." Respectively, my opinion on those four matters are as follows; yes, sometimes, wrong, and that's your opinion.
For those of you expecting the flutey melody lines of Music Has a Right to Children, expect to be surprised. Or disappointed. Whichever you choose. Boards of Canada has yet to duplicate the same techniques in a subsequent album (since the release of The Campfire Headphase, this is almost ... Read More:

After hearing a lot about Aphex Twin and doing a bit of research, i went out and bought this album fairly cheap. I got home, and the first track "Acrid Avid Jam Shred" comes on with subtle distortion and a drum beat. After a minute or so, the synths kick in and i immediately see what i'm in for; much to my approval.
The album consists of repeatative hardcore breakbeats, accompanied by some calming chords and melodies occasionaly, and like out of nowhere these breakbeats start getting fiddled around with. To be honest, i wasn't sure what i was meant to make of it at first. I kept expecting more sounds to kick in over the beats, but they didn't...and after a while i realized i like it this way.
The album doesn't at all sound the same though...if you're not convinced yet, ... Read More:
