This is one interesting album, but the majority of it I disliked. Like many other reviewers (okay, maybe some) I felt most artists performing on this missed by a long shot. The only pieces I felt worthy were Amy Lee's rendition of the tragic ballad, "Sally's Song" and the instreementals. Most of the songs in the film had a weird, but singable edge to them. This album's a hit-and-miss.

I definitely love this album...totally different than what you normally hear on the radio...so refreshing - something new. Similar to the last in that it is still electronic rock but with more heavy guitars in it...plus there's a new lead female vocalist. I really like this new girl's voice..she tries some rappin' on the first song 'when did this storm begin' and it works! Some ppl are puttin' down this album because they loved the female lead before but if you open your mind guys this album stands on its own. I loved Carah too but this new chick Sisely is cool too. Each song is different than the other, my fav. is frozen ocean..abit ethereal and I like season of love although most ppl don't...although it is repetitive like ppl say it has a nice ... Read More:

This is an amazing CD and my favorite band. Amy Lee (the lead singer) has a hauntingly beautiful voice. Her voice is like an angel but it fits witht the alternative rock style that this band is. The songs on this CD can be a little dark but I think most people will enjoy the songs and appreciate the lyrics. Every song on this CD is amazing, which is why I think the entire CD is worth the buy. You will not be disapointed. One similar artist is Flyleaf so if you have heard them and liked their music then you will definitely enjoy Evanescence.

Like a lot of you I was ready to write Cradle off after Thornography.
Then I started reading some of the reviews on this one.
All I can say is.........you guys were right!!!
Cradle was about to go down the $$$ road like Metallica did with the Black album.
It took four albums and fifteen years for Metallica to wake up.
I'm so glad it only took one bad album for Cradle to do the same.
"Godspeed" starts off with the obligatory creepy Cradle intro and then blasts off with "Hell"
"The Death of Love" and "The 13th Caesar" are both keepers.
I'm not one for writing really long music reviews but I'll say this.
There really aren't any bad songs on the albums but my favorite so far has to be, "Darkness Incarnate" ... Read More:

I heard this voice on a Moonlight episode and feel in love with the sound amy lee made. I searched for the name of the group and singer, then I bought the CD. I dont consider this gothic music, just good quality singing with excellent backround music. I sang professionally for all my life and when I heard this CD I fell in love with this sound so I have purchased other CDs from the same group.

I am very much in love with this dvd. This is much better than The Silent Force tour dvd, which was still great of course. While there are 3 extras, I still feel the need for more bonus features, like music videos perhaps. Also, I noticed the video quality somewhat lacked in the quick flash moments but I sat very close to the screen so normally I doubt it is noticeable. Overall, Black Symphony is not to be missed!

The downward spiral indeed. Reznor continues his artistic liberations via no record contracts, although it is becoming more and more clear that, unlike Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails used that platform to capitalize on it's popularity and fan base by releasing sometimes less restrained, but almost always less detailed songs. The Slip works well enough to provide ample counterpoint to his last snooze-fest of industrial ambiance, Ghosts I-IV, with a way more uptempo, rocking vibe, but still continues down a path of sagging mediocrity. Reznor will always be a perceptive producer and offer intriguing soundscapes- even at his most generic or derivative, but it feels like the overall compositional quality has declined.

After releasing a masterpiece "Mythmaker" with Skinny Puppy, ohGr creates the most embarrassing album to date. It is not new, it is not truly experimental, it is just a sad example of the godfather of industrial getting old.
I think the only good stuff we'll get out of ohGr is if Key is creating an album for him.

I bought this album with much enthusiasm, and yet I found nothing but pop-friendly rock songs reminiscent of Evanescence.
Now don't get me wrong, Evanescence is a great band, and this is a good album, but what happened to the old Within Temptation? Their first album was their best one in my opinion. Even though it saddened me to see them take a new direction in their next albums, at least it was still unique. In contrast, this album sounds like Celine Dion with guitars in the background. It still sounds good, but I personally like metal more than rock.
If you like female-fronted rock bands then by all means buy this album, you will not be disappointed. However, if you're more into Gothic Metal I recommend you buy Within Temptation's first album "Enter", ... Read More:
