I've so enjoyed the resurgence of Abba..the theater version of Mama Mia..and the film version. SO I had to get the CD and I love it...the styling of the songs and the words are so impressive.

Pretty slimey on the part of the record company rereleasing the 2007 version of the an album a year later with three new songs tacked onto the old version. Couldn't they come up with more than three new songs so they could release a new album? I already have the 2007 version...I'm not buying the 2008 version. What's next? Another three new songs for a 2009 re-rerelease?

Okay, first off, I will admit that I'm NOT a Disney fan. The Disney people know now is a little past my generation. I never really liked Miley Cyrus, I thought Camp Rock was a bad movie, and I can't really get into the Jonas Bros. So to say the least, I was skeptical.

I heard her single, "Get Back" because it was on the radio and I liked it. I downloaded the song, but I never considered getting her entire album until recently. Now, I've been playing it non-stop practically.

The best thing about her is that her lyrics are not specialized towards a particular population. There are obvious lines that are supposed to appeal to her Disney audience (wearing converses in "La La Land"), but songs like "Don't Forget" have no targeted ... Read More:

What a great tribute to the Motown sounds! This man really was inspired by all the wonderful tunes that came from all the phenominal artists of Detroit. He has written songs that evoke great memories of my growing up in the '60's. When I first heard LOVE THAT GIRL I thought it was a real oldie I just had never heard before. His duet with Joss Stone reminds me of Marvin and Tammi. I just have to give him point off for including Jay-Z on the last cut. I am not a rap fan, sorry. Maybe for his next CD he can tackle the Sounds of Philadelphia.

Gamma Ray is a song that I haven't been able to get out of my head. Yep, another Beck earworm. Anyway, this is a another solid Beck album. That means you have some of the best song hooks possible, a bunch of different musical influences, some songs which are great radio fodder, and some that are seemingly pointless. Beck, to me, hits about the same on each album. 1/3 great songs, 1/3 perfectly fine songs, 1/3 less brilliant songs. But he does that album after album, without fail. And even the least useful of the songs are novel and interesting at least once. He's a bleedin' genius.

Lady Gaga's "The Fame" is an excessive foray into mindless self indulgence. There's nothing remotely interesting about the singer, nor her tiring album. Most of the songs sound the same, lacking any sense of urgency or danceable beat. She sprinkles rap into them to make them even more annoying. I can't recommend this in any case.
