Genesis Box Set 3 (1970-1975)[13 Disc Set]

This set contains almost exactly what I wanted. The most important releases by one of my favorite bands, remixed in 5.1 surround. But there's quite a bit more than that.

It also contains nearly all of the existing video footage of the band from that time. Let that soak in. Most of it is in better quality than ever seen before. I think my VHS copy of the Midnight Special performance might be in better shape than theirs, but that's a minor complaint.

The set also contains the recently rediscovered Jackson Tapes. This was a 1970 recording session for a documentary about the painter Michael Jackson. In this recording, you can hear the compositional beginnings of The Fountain of Salmacis, Anyway, and the Musical Box, ... Read More:

This is an excellent album. The band is having a lot of fun on it. Every song is good, and rocks. Angus does some slide guitar, and one song sounds like a ZZ Top song in the beginning. Get the expanded cd version. This is the one I have. It has additional photos, concert photos, and the song lyrics. Listened to it twice. Love it. Can't wait to listen to it again.

This album is perfect, and it's imperfection makes it that way. If you could only own one album, this is it. It has it all. It's influence is incalculable. Sell everything you own, and just listen to this. Really.

RUSH: Snakes & Arrows Live

Rush is one of the greatest rock bands ever (hello Hall of Fame! Rush should be in the Hall of Fame by now) and I can't wait to pop these discs into my DVD player, IF I don't scratch the discs' surfaces. This has the same horrible packaging as Cheap Tricks' new "Budokan!" box. The CDs are incredibly snug in cardboard slits, all in a flimsy package. No clam shell case or even slimline jewel cases here. Just a flimsy cardboard package with no trays whatsoever, so every time you do get the discs out, they will scratch, no matter how careful you are. It's frustrating that labels keep having ANTI-JEWEL CASE FEVER and keep issuing things that will scratch after just a few days. Bring back the jewel cases, please. Having All Their Studio Albums Some Remastered And Some Not I Bought This Box Set Anyway ! The Remastered Sound Is Great. Some Reviews Gave Complaints About This, But They Sound Great On A Worthy Stereo!

AC/DC Back in Black will forever be the greatest Album of all times! Even my kids who are just tweening and coming of age agree! This album is addictive, and brings back soo many happy, fond, memories!

Wow.

Just watched the Kilburn show at a Marcus Theater in Columbus, OH. The sound is just incredible. I doubt there is another better sounding Who concert in their entire catalog.

The show was originally filmed to be part of The Who documentary, The Kids Are Alright. Shot in December of 1977, this was the first show The Who were to perform in over a year, and turned out to be Keith Moon's 2nd to last performace before his death the following year. Apparently the director of TKAA, Jeff Stein, thought the footage was not up to par, and had the boys play another show in May 1978, that would see two songs (Baba O'Reilly & Won't Get Fooled Again) later appear in the film. This is a MUST for any Pink Floyd / David Gilmour fan. Some of the last DVD glimpses of Rick Wright. Great sound quality and picture on both the CD and DVD. I know there is a five disk set out there...and am curious to see if it's better or has more songs? This four disk set is great and you can't beat the price.

... but I only gave it 4 stars because Paul died before this album was finished. Had Paul (not Faul) been involved in the making of this classic album, it would've been even crazier.

Still... beautiful album by the 3 remaining Beatles. Highly recommended.
