it no "Sounds Fromt Thievery Hifi" or "DJ Kicks" but not a clunker like Abductions and Reconstructions".About on par with "Mirror Conspiracy".They don't re-invent their wheel here by any means but it grooves.Little more of that "Tower Of Power" lite here with usual sitars and drum grooves from Brazil,Africa,Jamaica,India.Again not a re-invention by any means.Definitely more political lyrics as you might expect from the cover art.Worth picking up but I thought an MP3 for $5 was bargain compared with CD.I usually only download what's OOP on Jazz CD but the MP3 discount got me in.
Cheers

I cannot say that i'm a fan of Discordinant sound.
Many a musical snob calls this intelligent music.
I call it noise.
It doesn't take rocket science to create garbles of mathematical
sound. Just an analytical mind, & a want to stray far from center.
This release is very disappointing in my estimate.
Not in the fact that it is indeed so unlike old Portishead, but that it lacks in any firm tonal center for much of the duration.
As soon as you begin to want to connect to something, it is quickly ripped from underneath you.
There have been many geniuses that have pushed the bar far from the norm
but have maintained a central tonality in their work.
This is in my estimate where ... Read More:

I bought this CD at the CD store. I got it on my birthday. I heard it was a great CD, so I bought it. It was great! My parents and my nanny liked it, too! It has a little bit of funk, disco, and electro. I really liked how they mixed it all together! This CD was very good.

Five songs into Seven Lives Many Faces, I was convinced that I would never buy another Enigma CD again. The CD started with the obligatory horns and breathy, spoken-word vocals followed by two of the most mediocre Enigma songs I had ever heard. Track number 4, "The Same Parents" was interesting, but a little too cliche in its message. As I listened, the death of Enigma was nearly sealed with "Fata Morgana", an absolutely forgettable composition.
But as "Fata Morgana" transitioned into track 6, "Hell's Heaven" my ears took notice. "Hell's Heaven" opens with a heartbreaking chord progression that gives way to a sinister bass beat and then into rising string stabs. The truth is that Enigma has never done anything this interesting or experimental ... Read More:

I am a huge fan of Jem's first album, Finally Woken, and purchased this one on the authority of the reviewers who said it was as good or better. Having listened to it a few times, I'm afraid I have to disagree. By far the best track on the CD is the title track, "Down to Earth". But even that one isn't as good as "24" from Finally Woken. "Aciiid!" is an almost-successful foray into the hip-hop genre, but ultimately lacks the edginess that makes for decent hip-hop. Most of the songs here unfortunately are lacking in musical variation, and the lyrics are simplistic at best. Don't get me wrong: I still liked the album. But it wasn't what I was hoping for.

This is unusual to some extent-but still great Sufi Music. If you do not know about this music-you need to know what it is. The music spread Islam relegion, even in India. before sword was used to force the relegion. Regardles of ones relegion-this music is loved by most of people in south asian region. The singer, from Iran which was the source of this music-like the poetry by Rumi etc. It is beutiful and one need to listen with real pleasure and you dont have to be of any relegion. even lot of Bollywood music is Sufy style!!!

"Trip-hop"? "Downtempo"? Although it is a dark record, between Beth Gibbons' tortured voice, Geoff Barrows' beats, scratches and samples, and Adrian Utleys' jazzy guitar: this album is pure sex.

This album is so sensual, melodious, hauntingly sexual, and liberates the artistic soul. I began painting my first female nude while listening to this CD. If you're artistic and in need of inspiration, or feel your creativity is stifled then this is the album for you. Also great for those couples out there needing some bonding lovey dovey makeup time after a disagreement. Hotly Recommended!!

I had downloaded a couple of justice songs and loved them after a few days for them to grow on me but Cross just blew my mind. At times the tracks sound discordant and chaotic but all of them falll into a beat eventually. Most people dont like "ttthhheee parrrtttyyy" but there is something about it that i love, just an afterthought.

I bought a couple of Tiesto's In search of sunrise discs (disc 3 and 4) and I didn't really like them. I didn't think Tiesto was a great DJ. I decided to give him another try and bought Elements of Life and Loved it and I bought many of his other CD's after that. I then decided to give ISOS one more shot and I bought the Aisa disc set and I was blown away. This is truly an amazing work.
The first disc is slower with lost of vocal (which I love) and the second Disc is much more up beat and has an epic trance feel.
I would highly recommend this album to anyone that loves Tiesto!!
