I was disappointed that the entire CD did not live up to the song, Home song "Home." Usually, we expect that the entire collection will have the same sound.

I happen to like Blues and especially when a master guitarist like Eric picks up an acoustic guitar and slows everything down to almost ballad tempo. He gently allows the blues in his life to come forth as beautiful music that eveyone can appreciate.

The album tracks are equally as good as the radio overplayed singles. My favourites are "Freedom Overspill" and "Finer things". The release of this album in 1986 cemented what a great year for albums that year was. Not only did we get "Graceland (Paul Simon)" but this album which put Winwood right at the top of the charts. Listening to it again the other day, makes me very happy but I do think it is a little dated in sound. Has 80s written all over it, ie. the saxophones. Steve also had a love of synthesizers which unfortunately have not dated so well. The success of this album saw the record company quickly release a compilation of sorts called "Chronicles" but it was not quite a greatest hits. It was aimed to present a snapshot of his earlier stuff ... Read More:

I've been a huge Van Morrison fan since my early twenties. I started buying all his music until 'The Healing Game'. I stopped there because he was releasing an average of 2 albums per year, and my financial status was becoming at risk. I am not a fan of compilations at all. I just bought this CD in a whim and I still don't know why. I may have all the songs in here except for a couple, but the quality of every track is excellent. There is not one single song that is not good. Perhaps the Pink Floyd song is helping selling this compilation a lot, since it appeared in 'The Departed', in a very interesting moment in that movie. I already had it in the 'The Wall' concert of Roger Waters in Berlin, but anyway ... This compilation may help getting a good overview ... Read More:

I bought this dvd for three dollars at a subway shop in South Korea, and it was well-worth the amount of money I paid. Clapton gives a great performance. Though "Tearin' Us Apart" is not really my type of song, I enjoy every other tune on this disc. "It Hurts Me Too" and "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" are especially excellent. I was previously unfamiliar with "Holy Mother", which, while not in the same league with his older solo material, recordings with Cream, or even Blues covers, is enjoyable. Hopefully, when people watch this dvd, they will become more interested in Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Eddie Boyd and Elmore James, whose songs are performed on this disc. Clapton is not a Bluesman, but serves as a gateway to the Blues for young people. I hope that people ... Read More:

You simply cannot go wrong with this wonderful collection from a disciplined and masterfully-led chorus. If you want to hear Christmas choral standards in all their glory, no disappointment here - beautiful men's chorus version (original) of Beibl's Ave Maria, and the treble voices also get play in the Ceremony of Carols.

From the gothic spookiness of the opener, When the Lights Go Out, to the delicate guitar beauty of The Lengths, to the innovative remake of a classic in Stack Shot Billy, the Black Keys deliver real deal roots music that will please both blues and rock fans who like their music raw and unpolished.
The duo can craft a hook and has pop sensibility, but they rock as hard as anyone and filter their love of the blues through fat and fuzzy guitar tones and pounding drums that would be just as at home in a Delta juke joint as a big city rock venue.
I found the Black Keys on a Fat Possum compilation CD and while this album is the first of theirs I've bought, it won't be the last.

this is another great album to listen to when you want to chill out or clean the house to. even though she doesn't have the strongest voice, her lyrics and sound bring something new to music.

I am amazed that this cost so little, but was SOOOOO good. Sonnny Boy II is (IMHO) the better of the Sonny Boys. A lot of people will justifiably rave about his skill on the harp, but do not let that distract you from his vocals. This performer has a tremendous voice.
Sonny Boy Williamson II is a complete blues package, musician and vocalist.
Although he is a polished performer, there is still a huge amount of emotion that comes through his work.
This recording is very clear and enjoyable, which is very good, considering the time and recording technology available when the originals were made. (No, it's not Alan Lomax recording in hotel rooms, but still . . . . .)
If you liked this, you might want to consider looking ... Read More:
