Listening to this new CD takes me back to the "rocker" days of my youth. I loved it and often put it in a 6 CD rotation with Delbert, Willie and Ray Charles!!!

Nowhere on Earth are you going to find a better live album produced this Centry. Joe has been tearing up stages for nearly 20 years. This set is indicative of where he is at at this particular time in his career. Even though this recording what pieced together from a few different shows recorded in late 2007 it plays seemlessly.
Having seen Joe numerous times I at first thought the crowd seemed a little distant. Joe's crowds can get pretty vocal at times. With the crowd noise kept to a minimum it doesn't seem to interfere with the moments captured here.
The production of this live opus was handled by none other than Kevin Shirley most noted for recent work remastering the Led Zepelin DVD How The West Was Won. Kevin ... Read More:

The fact that this guy would probably be a hit with John Mayer fans is a blow to this guy, since John Mayer is easily one of the worst hacks making music (no, muzak) today. I was hinted to call this guy a slightly more interesting John Mayer with an acoustic guitar. Sure, it's not deep music, it won't start anything, but it's breezy, chill music (not muzak, thank god). It's definitely worth getting.
The sound of Jack Johnson is a good one, it will definitely relax you. It's a very chill album, but it's soothing and makes you feel good, than rather making you feel drowsy, bored, and wanting to rip your hair out. Jack Johnson plays smooth, sharp, refreshing melodies on the guitar, and his very cool voice floats together. The rhythm ... Read More:

Taj Mahal has all the qualities of a true American, nay, world master musician: vocal and instrumental technique, characteristic personal style, the curiosity of exploration, the fearlessness of experimentation, wisdom, and group leadship. Listening to this wide-ranging CD, I was struck with how many blues styles he captured, from country to urban, from the Deep South to the Caribbean to West Africa, at home on banjo, harmonica, and acoustic and electric guitars. With the great group Los Lobos and also the Phantom Blues Band and Ziggy Marley's Band as support, we take a grand tour of a great musical soul, the result of decades of learning. Having first heard Taj Mahal 40 years ago and enjoyed his works over the ensuing years, I regard this album as ... Read More:

..for me not the real Gary Moore. For me the Gary Moore of the 80's was virtually untouchable. The man played with a fire and conviction like no other and his guitar chops were out of this world. Killer tone and peerless playing. THAT Gary Moore is easily one of my favorite top 3 guitar players. I didn't mind much when he started concentrating full time on blues releases because his playing has always been blues-based, just like so many other rock greats. I love Still Got The Blues and After Hours but I kind of got tired of Gary in that format and longed for him to return to his hard rock ways.
To the total disappointment of many that will never happen. Gary has turned his back on those days and appears to be quite dismissive of that work. ... Read More:

Ry Cooder has been around a long time and has released many albums/c d's,and contributed as a session man and producer. His music is varied and Ry has explored many different styles and tastes. He was even courted by the Rolling Stones as a replacement in the early seventies....So with that written this anthology/overview is essential listening and cuts to the best of his work.In my opinion many of his releases were a mixed bag and he often got lost in what direction he was aiming for to capture the listener.Case in point were his last two releases which I considered poor...."BUT" this anthology is very good and Ry's signature slide guitar rifts and catchy hooks are worth every penny!

It has been 40 years since Rod Stewart finally made his way into the hearts or music fans all over the world. Yet, with all his highs and lows, his music has never lost its edge. But, there have been some moments where people weren't interested in his voice because of the next big fad. Still, that hasn't stopped Rod from making great music, and having a delightful sense of humor. Yet, with his 40 years, he hasn't really had a definitive hits collection that showcases just about everything from his delightful voice. Now, to celebrate all those years Rod Stewart had proclaimed if you think he is sexy, a new anthology showcasing Rod's highs and lows is released. but does it actually do enough to appal to fans young and old?
