Joan Osborne has won me over again, this time as the singer of 70's soul covers and the writer of new songs to fall in love with. I strayed over to this looking for a wife gift, I tend to listen to more Jazz and Blues vocalists, yet I found her voice styling and her arrangements tight and complete. I can say proudly that my wife and I sang along with her on her covers of Kiss And Say Goodbye, Midnight Train To Georgia, Sara Smile, Break Up To Make Up and Kiss And Say Goodbye. And other than the overly maudlin Baby Is A Butterfly, Ms Osborne has given us a wonderful makeout album... oops cd.

I remember this album when I was 13. I love this album. It's soulful and consistent. This is an honestly erotic and animatedly sweet album, enigmatic unto question itself. Her articulation is clear and patient, toying with space and time. This album seeks to establish a multifaceted artist with real, feeling stories on paper. This album went 2x Platinum. Remember, this was 2000-2001.

What can I say, I love Tab Benoit music. He is what you would call a Pro and a gentlemen. Awesome on stage and off.

This is a one-off recording of a one-off supergroup.
The band line-up is:
Steve Gadd - Drums
Marcus Miller - Bass/Bass Clarinet
Joe Sample - Keyboards
Eric Clapton - Guitar / Vocals
David Sanborn - Alto Sax
This is mostly instrumental, with only vocals by Clapton on a couple of tracks. As you would expect with a crack rhythm section like this the groove generated is fantastic and the opening track 'Full House' demonstrates this amply. Clapton had insecurities about playing with such a Jazz based group of musicians, however he more than holds his own against the prodigious talents of Sample, Miller and Sanborn (not to mention the drummers drummer Gadd).

This double album is representative of V.M.'s best recent stuff. The fact that the sublime "Shenandoah" and "Meet Me in the Indian Summer" (Orchestral version) are included is alone worth the price of purchase. I've probably listened to Shenandoah 30 times already; it's a soul-stirring beauty of a song.

so why did i sleep on this? I love the CD Stay, as with all Simply Red Cd's. I keep for getting that Simply Red is a group, not a person. I first heard this song while switching up ipods in my car. As I was doing this the radio came on, and i hear this nice beat, and the voice of lead singer of Simply Red, so i am thinking, I know the voice, but did not recall the song, as I have all the CD's of Simply Red. So i had to hear the entire song, as another person is singing,, and later to find out it's Bobby Blue Bland. I had to search the net for any new simply red stuff. I could not find it until i did a search for the song 'Up the Road'. Bang! I found it, so i see this is the lead singer of simply red, and this has been out since the summer. I ... Read More:

I have owned this CD for a while and I keep coming back to play it for comfort. I love his blues style and interpretation of old Vietnam war classics. The timeing and message is clear, but the songs are beautiful. He can do it all! What a musician!

This George Thorogood collection is a great party CD, regardless of whether you drink like a fish or are totally clean and sober (as I am). While Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Winter could play rings around him, George Thorogood created an intense modern blues style which I hope will influence others. If you saw the 1984 TV movie WHY ME? (based on a true story), in which the lead character's face is virtually destroyed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver, you might wish to skip the overt drinking songs on this CD and just listen to stuff such as "Gear Jammer", "Move It On Over", and "Who Do You Love?", but even if you don't agree with the lyrics of the alcohol songs, you can still enjoy the guitar playing and the grooves of this whole anthology. Sure, it goes a bit ... Read More:
