I grew out of and beyond christianity a long time ago and I strongly recomend this CD. This CD is delightfully creepy. I can listen to it and feel in harmony with my inner divinity. This CD is great the only other CD or CDs that I feel that are in the same ballpark as this one is Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. I love these guys!! BUY THIS!!!
Buy the way, if you're guessing if I was paid to say that, I wasn't. Maybe you weren't thinking that but trust me this CD is enjoyable for christians pagans budhists alike.

I bought JEM a long time ago and have listened to her when I can. After I gave birth to my stillborn baby at 7 months, I listened to her again. Missing You really moved me. The lyric described exactly what I was feelings... "my happiness disappeared the moment you were gone... now all I'm feeling is lost and numb.... yes I miss you and it's killing me inside...." And then I listened to Just A Ride and thought that lyric moved me as well. "Life, it's ever so strange. It's so full of change. Think that you've worked it out Then BANG Right out of the blue, Something happens to you, to throw you off course... just enjoy the ride....." I'm glad I found JEM. Her voice reminds me of DIDO.

The first album drew me in because of a certain likeness to Supreme Beings of Leisure, but this one is more uniquely lounge sound. "The Bomb" is absolutely impossible to drive from your head.
This album is a lot more diverse and varied, which keeps you interested start to finish. One minor complaint is the singer's need to lisp her s'es seemingly on purpose. "Sugar Mama" also sounds embarrassingly like "Don't Worry, Be Happy."
But if you can get past the emulative flaws, you'll certainly enjoy the album while driving or chilling at home.

I heard a couple of STG songs on the radio here in Boston and liked them. So I picked up the album, amazing. It has been a LONG time that I found an album that I could listen to from begining to end. I don't love every song but I find each song brings something different. Favorites are: Le Disko, Rainy Monday & Chemistry of a Car Crash. Also pickup their "Stripped" LP to hear some very cool remakes os "Stripped" & "Nothing Compares to You." Looking forward to "Season of Poison" coming out in November.

Bland, generic, cheesy, and uninspired music. All songs are the same, they start with looong intros, then a female vocal shows up, and then a "climax keyboard" that you have probably heard something similar before.

This CD came up as an Amazon suggestion. I listened to the preview tracks and liked what I heard. Now that I've had the CD for about a month, I really like this disc. It's very pleasant. Emiliana has a wonderful voice. The songs are somewhat chillout like.
I think that if you like Dido, Beth Orton, Suzzane Vega, Sarah MacLaughlin, and Natalie Merchant (toss in a bit of Chillout); you will likely enjoy Emiliana. She was a very pleasant surprise to me. Not at all Bjork like.

With Dummy, Portishead cemented their niche in the world of trip hop, and honestly had no obligations to carry out afterwards. Dummy was a fantastic album, good enough that even if the group had stopped there and made it a one time deal, the album would not have faded into obscurity. In any case, Portishead's early end has always felt slightly unrealized. Portishead only made two studio albums, one live album, and a few stray singles, b-sides, and rarities. It takes a very special band to be this appreciated with so little for fans to go on.
The self titled album has always been the overlooked one. Dummy was clearly the better album, and considering the band only really had two albums, that makes Portishead the bands worst album. This curse of relativity ... Read More:

Not only is the movie one of my faves but so is the soundtrack. I have an addiction to buying soundtracks and this one tops the list of my many. Its so good I'm using a few of the tracks for my wedding.
