Overall, this is seriously bland. This album has few bright spots- the brightest of which, "Paper Planes", leaves all other tracks in the dust.
This could've easily been a fairly solid EP of 5 tracks, but as a 12-track album, this is desperately lacking substance. Desperately. It appears as though she rushed this release to take advantage of the hype brought by her debut.

Bought this for my sister who was really into the Spice Girls at the height of their fame. I've listened to it with her and there are a couple of good songs but I was in my late 20's when this came out so it was a bit past my interest level. Music and vocals are ok. If you are a SG fan, you will like this cd.

Is it possible to start a whole new religion based on an audio cd? If so, this is the strongest contender to make it happen. Wonderful whispy female vocals, captivating synths. It is hard to ignore mr Van Buuren after this release. Not recommended for highway use! It will actually put you in a trance! Buy and enjoy. You can thank me later, at mass.

I cannot say that i'm a fan of Discordinant sound.
Many a musical snob calls this intelligent music.
I call it noise.
It doesn't take rocket science to create garbles of mathematical
sound. Just an analytical mind, & a want to stray far from center.
This release is very disappointing in my estimate.
Not in the fact that it is indeed so unlike old Portishead, but that it lacks in any firm tonal center for much of the duration.
As soon as you begin to want to connect to something, it is quickly ripped from underneath you.
There have been many geniuses that have pushed the bar far from the norm
but have maintained a central tonality in their work.
This is in my estimate where genius ... Read More:

An arresting set of varied material, done in imaginative production stances, this "dance fever" set catches fire from the onset and only occasionally lets go. A refreshing set of material that can be a real treat to see live. One can only imagine the stage shows! This set seems like some of the missing outtakes of the Talking Heads subset (minus David Byrne), The Tom Tom Club. A world beat/reggae treat. Definitely one of the CDs of the year.

I bought this CD at the CD store. I got it on my birthday. I heard it was a great CD, so I bought it. It was great! My parents and my nanny liked it, too! It has a little bit of funk, disco, and electro. I really liked how they mixed it all together! This CD was very good.

Five songs into Seven Lives Many Faces, I was convinced that I would never buy another Enigma CD again. The CD started with the obligatory horns and breathy, spoken-word vocals followed by two of the most mediocre Enigma songs I had ever heard. Track number 4, "The Same Parents" was interesting, but a little too cliche in its message. As I listened, the death of Enigma was nearly sealed with "Fata Morgana", an absolutely forgettable composition.
But as "Fata Morgana" transitioned into track 6, "Hell's Heaven" my ears took notice. "Hell's Heaven" opens with a heartbreaking chord progression that gives way to a sinister bass beat and then into rising string stabs. The truth is that Enigma has never done anything this interesting or experimental on any of ... Read More:

I definitely love this album...totally different than what you normally hear on the radio...so refreshing - something new. Similar to the last in that it is still electronic rock but with more heavy guitars in it...plus there's a new lead female vocalist. I really like this new girl's voice..she tries some rappin' on the first song 'when did this storm begin' and it works! Some ppl are puttin' down this album because they loved the female lead before but if you open your mind guys this album stands on its own. I loved Carah too but this new chick Sisely is cool too. Each song is different than the other, my fav. is frozen ocean..abit ethereal and I like season of love although most ppl don't...although it is repetitive like ppl say it has a nice beat...my least fav actually ...
