"Day After Tomorrow" is an excellent Baez disc IMHO! Her song selections continue to be powerful. Her voice, while weathered, remains expressive and powerful. Patty Griffin's "Mary" has a lovely melody that Baez embodies completely as she finds inspiration from the example of the mother of Jesus, "Every time the snow drifts, every time the sand shifts, even when the night lifts, she's always there." Eliza Gilkyson wrote two tracks that Baez recorded. "Rose of Sharon" was originally on Eliza's CD Redemption Road. Steve Earle's acoustic guitar compliments Baez's voice that brims with emotion, "Rise up my love & come away, the rain is over & gone, you are the fruit of my darkest day." "Requiem" from Gilkyson's Paradise Hotel is masterfully ... Read More:

This is a great JM CD if you are already a fan and are looking for that extra acoustic take on some familiar songs. I love the vocal rhythm changes in "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" and the soft guitar in "Belief" I definitely think that this offers a cool, chill feel to John's music, and is a nice tag along with "Where the light is?"

Has there been an album by Celtic Woman that hasn't offended me? No. But I've always bit my lip and shrugged it off. But this album really pushed me over the edge. I heard it at my cousin Bike's Christmas party last year- I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Are they deaf?, I thought to myself. I guess no one was paying attention to the lyrics- this album is filled with filthy innuendo! I am offended and disgusted! And they call this a CHRISTMAS ALBUM? I guess Christmas has changed... sigh.

A follow up to his 2006 album "Under The Skin," which to me far excedes it. He takes on more of his rock roots and a few of the songs sound very much like something that could be on a Fleetwood Mac album. "Great Day" has "Tusk" written all over it. "Love Runs Deeper" has this awesome chorus with that Mac-ish tone. "Did You Miss Me" is just lyrics in motion and is definitely one of my favorites. "Wait For You" is sinister and balls to the wall rockin'. "Treason" takes us back to the acoustic feel of "Skin" with its strumming acoustics and lush Buckingham vocals. I love this album and will say it is the closest to "Cradle' in my heart.

I never thought I would one day stop being a fan of Ben Folds, but this CD did it. No matter what he says, it is a divorce CD and not a good one at that. Leaving aside whether it's mature to record hate songs against the mother of your kids for them to hear, the album is uneven and tries to hard to be clever. The fun hooks and interesting story telling are largely absent. It just doesn't measure up to the old days. I miss the Five.

This is a pretty good cd. It has a nice mixture of upbeat and slower songs. Some of the songs sound similar though. I think the cd would've been better if she had a few duets. But I think its worth getting if you enjoy her popular songs.

Celtic Woman fans and music lovers alike will enjoy this release! If you are new to CW, I would recommend this CD. It is what it says it is: the essential collection. Compiled in this CD are many of the most loved songs that the group has released over the span of the past few years. For those who are not familiar with them, it is a good way to have a look at what they are all about.
In addition, there are two NEW songs that CW fans will go nuts for: "The Call" (lyrics by Brendan Graham) and "Pie Jesu," which is a duet between Chloe and Lynn. It is lovely to hear Lynn on these two songs, as she has a fantastic voice and is such a perfect addition to the group! "The Call" is an absolutely beautiful song. It's very powerful, very uplifting and has ... Read More:

Bought this CD as USED but it looks and sounds as good as new. This music is haunting, beautiful, or charming...depending on the specific tune. This is really pre-country / bluegrass classical folk stuff. You will either understand its origins and love it, or think it is stupid.

Ingrid has done it again with her junior album! "Be OK" has remakes, originals, and collaborations, and each diddy is more catchy and melodic than the first. A great album and a wonderful talent!
