Dirt Farmer is the best album I have heard in years! If you like country, folk, gospel and the blues, you will love this album. From the first time I heard it, I liked it, but now I adore it. From beginning to end, this is a masterpiece. In my mind, the songs that stand out are as follows: False Hearted Lover Blues, The Mountain, Little Birds, Calvary, Got Me A Woman, Single Girl, Married Girl and Wide River To Cross. This album has great songs, superb musicianship and gorgeous harmonies. What else could you ask for? This country rocks!

Hope for the Hopeless

All great musicians grow and change. I personally wasn't as pleased with this album compared to his others. I think Dennen is an awesome poet, I love the way he strings his words together. This album is not as peppy as his last. It is a good work and reminds me of Joshua Radin's work. A little more mellow and nice little melodies placed here and there.

These DVDs are available in our local library for a three day check out. I thought, well, I will check them out and watch them sing. I never knew that I would be totally overcome with these singers, composer, Mr. David Downes and the incredible Mairead, the Irish whirlwind that you "can't get enough of" to quote David Downes. I immediately had to order my own copies and developed a following of each one of them because they are so uniquely different and equally mesmerizing. The songs literally soar into your consciousness and I agree with some of the reviewers that some of the songs may not be top choices as far as material goes-who cares, though.
The incomprable Maeve may be singing, or that Crystal voice from heaven, Chloe may be issueing her ... Read More:

Last Days At the Lodge

This ranks up there with his first cd...at least it's close behind. Amos Lee has so much talent; he writes his own songs, plays guitar beautifully and has a voice that reaches deep down inside me where few can go. His music comes from his heart and his soul. I sometimes feel that we must have met in another lifetime because his lyrics speak to me on a such a personal level.

EVERYONE should get Amos Lee's music! He is so deserving of a huge audience!

i purchased this cd as opposed to "their greatest hits" cd's 1 and 2 because it has more songs and pretty much all the greatest hits. make the comparison and you will be very happy with this cd. every song is fabulous.

I don't have much to add to the already glowing reviews for this joint by Joan and the team that brought you Relish way too long ago. Saw her and the band in the video recently and they did a great job which only reinforced my enjoyment of these songs. The writing, playing and performances are outstanding. The music comes from lots of places and styles. You will have favorites and may skip a track or two[maybe not], but it is all honest and heartfelt, no filler. That is saying alot for an 11 track cd.
Enjoy this offereing from one of todays most interesting talents.
I'm very happy I bought it.
