I have wanted this album since it was released; however, in 1999, I was only 12 and had no money to purchase it. But I am so glad to have it now because it is fabulous! Jennifer Lopez has a great voice and the songs on this CD make you feel good, and they are unforgettable. I really enjoy the singles "If You Had My Love" and "Waiting For Tonight" because they remind me of my younger days--great times. This is a great album for everyone!

You gotta love Laura!! She releases a single in Spanish, and the Latin Grammies can't wait to have her appear. The World Music Awards can't wait to reward her for Yo Canto.
Now she's outdone herself. This DVD is the most amazing combination of great music and downright incredible devotion, to and from her fans.
If you like Laura, you will LOVE the music, the elemental beauty of a great star at her best, and just plain good vibes form many thousands of devoted fans. Her band is sensational, and this DVD is just wonderful.

This is only my second Salvador CD, and I will say I think "Dismiss The Mystery" is a little better. However, I like this one as well, especially the title track and "Who You Really Are." Good job!!

I went to 2 of Mana's concerts in Houston. Both times were just electric. While the video put me in the same atmosphere, I feel the song choice could have been a little better. Much of the album reminded me too much of the Mana en vivo album with much of the song selection coming from that album (el rey, vivir sin aire, rayando el sol, and donde jugaran los ninos (loved that one though)). I do wish they had a couple of Alex songs from the Amar es Combatir album as well as other big hits. Maybe even show the Alex solo from PR. If you didnt go to the concert and bought this DVD you're totally missing out on some of the best stuff. Us Against the Crown

I heard these guys live in Chapel Hill last Friday. First of all, the CD doesn't compare to them live. Amazing live sound and jam feel when they're all together.
Their music is definitely something unique, and this album is well worth the money. It's like a more Reggae, punky version of the Dispatch. Go for it if you're into bands like Sublime, Dispatch, or the Mars Volta.

Amazon's five stars cannot do justice to Bebe's Pafuera Telaranas, an album that deserves six stars. I cannot listen to this album without it effecting me emotionally. One song makes me want to cry and the next one makes we want to date her. She rails against abuse. She expressively describes making love and thinking about making love. Bebe touches on subjects that few Spaniards would. Themes like "thinking of you with my hand", "taking advantage of a stranger sleeping in the park to satisfy a curiosity for the taste of 'honey'" "the yearning of her vagina that can only be cured by his thing," and so on. Mercedes Sosa (1935) is one of the greatest Argentinean folk singer!
She jumps to public attention when she was fifteen years old winning a singer's radio contest in Tucuman, her natal Province. From that point on she continues growing up as a notorious figure in the folk singers medium.
Due to difficult political situation at Argentina in 1979 she was forced into exile by military Junta, revisited Argentina briefly in 1982, giving a live recital and returned definitely in 1984 with the arrival of democracy.

The songs of this CD reflect Mercedes' musical life, not only Argentinean music but a wide and rich Latin American repertoire.

There is nothing bad about this album. It includes the relaxing "En el Muelle de San Blas" and the darker "Hechicera", both of which are simply wonderful. While I am not fluent enough in Spanish to grasp the original intent and meaning behind the lyrics, it is possible to understand enough to get the point of the song and enjoy it. And even if you dont know a word of spanish, the music is enough to relax you and stick in your head. Yet another sweet album by these Grammy winners.

The Essential Tito Puente

Very good compilation. If you are a fan of Tito Puente or a fan of Latin Music, now better known as Salsa, you can't go wrong with this two, 40 track CD set. Sony/Legacy has done a good job with their Essential series. I'm a fan of 'the old school' Latin Music, such as Tito Rodriguez, Joe Cuba, Willie Colon, etc. and not so much into the experimentation Tito Puente did with main street jazz or Latin Jazz. This compilation has some of that but not enough to turn me against it. It has a good balance of all that Tito did throughout his long and distinguished career. A good mix of all instrumental, vocals, mambos and Jazz/Latin Jazz. And who can complain when you have the original "Oye Como Va", and "Ran Kan Kan". The track 2 love song "I Could Fall In Love" Is one of the most beautiful love longs I ever heard. I know because I listened to Diana Ross, Bobby Vinton and Karen Carpenter. Selena in that love song has all of those three singers in her in one. I really was sad to know that she died so young. I feel bad for her husband, mother and father. She left us quick but that one love song was her best. Listen to that song and you will understand the beauty in Selena. Her voice, the music sound and what she said in the song. It is unreal. She was the best ever. I really wish that I could have went to see her and to touch her.
