Christmas by Mannheim Steamroller is a gorgeous Christmas cd, this is my second favorite cd from this instrumental band. I enjoy listening to this album every December, you gotta hear it for yourself. I highly recommend it!

The first thing I did when I received this in the mail was pop in the DVD ~ I have been a fan of Setzers since the Stray Cat days and have seen him play a few times. He is an amazing guitarist and knows how to put on one heck of a show, AND it's all captured on this dvd. The musicians behind him follow suit and are equally as gifted. These guys (and dolls) look like they are having the time of their life and it's contagious. The DVD features swingin' holiday favorites, but Setzer also ventures into some of his rockabilly tunes with Bernie Dresel on drums and John Hatton on bass, making for an outstanding trio performance.

There have been many Manheim Steamroller Christmas CDs over the years, at least seven that I know of. "Fresh Aire Christmas" was the second I believe, and in my opinion far and away the best. It's not that the other CDs weren't good, they were. But this collection is exceptional. From the opening fanfare of "Hark! The Herald Trumpets Sing" to the last beautiful notes of "O Holy Night" there is not one bad song here.

But what makes this CD great is how the music flows together. If you sit back and close your eyes you can almost imagine you are at a concert. This series of Christmas CD's are absolutely wonderful. There are 2 CD's in this package (also in the previous versions - #1 & #2) and they encompass both older artists and newer artists.

What I find so great is that I have been able to get rid of my old vinyl albums in exchange for these CD's - a win-win situation as far as freeing up space and time. A plus is that I now have the original versions of the songs as well as updated versions by newer artists.

It's a win-win all around! Enjoy!

I love Martina and her original White Christmas. I would give the original 4 stars and not 5 because I think there are a couple of female artist that are just a little better in their Christmas albums. That is my personal taste and her original is a great album.
I gave this 3rd release 2 stars because I think the value of this album to Martina fan's is low. I purchased the previous 2. With this one my total investment is around $40. Paying Amazons $14 for 4 new songs makes this a 2 star album.
I understand RCA is in a business to make money and they have the right to release this a hundred times if they choose. I still love Martina and will continue to buy her music. She has a great voice and she is one of the must outstanding role models amongst ... Read More:

The original "A Very Special Christmas". I remember buying the LP when it first came out and loved it so much that I decided to get the CD recently. Still a classic. Great Album.

This ten CD collection features family friendly Christmas music with a bluesy Tex-Mex spirit. There are 8 classics with a lovely Latino twist and two new songs.

Their opener, "I've Longed For Christmas" sounds like an instant classic to me. It's got a great, positive beat and the typical Los Lonely Boys harmony.

"She'll Be my Everything" is the kind of Christmas song that's going to end up on every Christmas romance CD for many years.

Then, there are the traditionals played in a way you have not heard them before. My favorite is "Carol of the Bells" but "Run, Run Rudolph" is great, too. If you're tired of the same old thing, you need to check out this CD. Great stuff!
