Bought this for my husband, but have to tell ya, that Jim is hilarious. I was laughing almost throughout this c.d. His, "Hot Pockets" skit alone is worth the price of the c.d. I also enjoyed how he does his, "what the audience is thinking" part ( he says what he thinks some mild mannered librarian/granny/whomever is thinking when he does his comedy act ). If you're not a fan, it may be better to rent this ( go to the library, for 50 cents you can hear it ), but if you're a fan, you will laugh again and again.

Since 2001, Deerhunter - co-founded by Bradford Cox and Moses Archuleta - have produced three LPs and four EPs worth of astonishing "ambient punk" (their own description), picking up devotees and different musicians along the way. Their mantra - "To achieve harmony in bad taste is the height of elegance" (Jean Genet) (Fronted by openly gay and occasionally cross-dressing singer Bradford Cox, Deerhunter have earned themselves a formidable reputation for intense live performances in their native Atlanta).
4AD's first involvement with the band was to release Microcastle, their excellent third album. The follow-up to 2006's acclaimed Cryptograms, it was recorded over the course of a week at Rare Book Studios in Brooklyn, New York with Nicolas ... Read More:

I have to say that in the many years that I have been a record buying fan, I have never had such a strong reason to purchase a CD as this one. Not only are the songs great, but the passion behind the project is what really drove me to not only buy the CD but to make sure that all of my friends knew about it.

The choir is still there. Máiréad is still there with her magic fiddle. But Hayley Westenra has disappeared. We miss her voice and her smile.
The Celtic Woman group is back to the original five girls: four vocalists (Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly and Méav Ní Mhaolchatha) and a wonderful creature, fallen from heaven for our outmost felicity. I wrote in my review of their "New Journey" (Amazon, February 4, 2007) that if Paradise exists, I picture it full of angels like Máiréad Nesbitt playing harp or violin!
Those who, like me, watch their second concert several times a year, will think that this third DVD is not quite as great as "A New Journey". But how better can you get after you have reached perfection?

All songs come with both original vocals and in instrumental karaoke versions. Some instrumental karaoke songs have backup vocals. The "Bop to the Top" instrumental version has some lead vocals interspersed through the song as well, which is a little weird, but you get used to it.
This is a Video CD (VCD), not a DVD, which means you need a DVD player that can play the VCD format to see it on your TV screen. The lyrics graphics aren't great, but they work just fine for the most part. Occasionally they get a little jumbled, but nothing that you can't sing around. The lyrics are also in the album booklet, but that is a little hard to follow with the small print and the duets.
The CD is missing one song, "Stick to the Status Quo." ... Read More:

This is a wonderful album, unlike any Christmas album you have heard before. I've bought one for every friend and family member. You will too.

Bought this CD as USED but it looks and sounds as good as new. This music is haunting, beautiful, or charming...depending on the specific tune. This is really pre-country / bluegrass classical folk stuff. You will either understand its origins and love it, or think it is stupid.

What to begin to say about this album? First off....
"Thanksgiving": This song is ALWAYS the first thing I hear early Thanksgiving morning just before sunrise while the world is calm, quiet...and typically quite cold!...outside. This sets the tone and mood like nothing I've ever known.
I won't go into a complete review of each song (and I absolutely could), all I can really say is that I believe the most common trait amongst all of us here writing reviews for this album is that no matter where each passing year finds us, the collection of melodies (though that word barely does them justice) sincerely allows time for an end-of-year reflection. You simply cannot help but be swept up in what George has composed here, and for those of ... Read More:

This is a fun Christmas album all the way through BUT it is the magical power of 1 song that makes this album Unforgetable! "I'll Be Missin' You Come Christmas" is the BEST Christmas song ever recorded. Musically beautiful, full of Christmas spirit, and sung to perfection by Jordan Knight. This is an eternal Christmas classic that never grows old and always feels good.
