I'll admit that they're first song, "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" didn't catch me like it did everyone else. However i thought i would give them a chance. I love this CD! It is one of the best country albums I have heard this year and it will definetely not disappoint. The best tracks are 2, 3 (my favorite), 6, 8, 10, and 11. They are also a band who does not dissapoint in concert, they sound just as good if not better live. Definetely worth checking out.

NOTE: The Deluxe edition has a bonus DVD with a 24 minute "Making Of" special that is well worth the extra cost. At Target Stores, there is an additional/exclusive 20 minute segment on the DVD called "Live In Concert", that turns out to be a new performance with the Count Basie Orchestra and pianist Monty Alexander of several tunes from this album! There is so much to love about this album--but it doesn't quite reach Tracy's highest standards of excellence. Tracy Chapman has one of the most distinctive and warm voices in music, and from a straight vocal standpoint, everything is as beautiful as it has ever been. Her vibrato is as strong as ever, no hint of effort on her part. Every note seems channeled from some inner well of grace. Her intonations are perfect--floating over her guitar at moments of emotional delicacy, punching on the beat when she decries injustice. Her lyrics are poignant, insightful, but not searing. This video came highly recommended from a friend who is a new parent. It is absolutely fabulous - I am 7 months pregnant, so have yet to apply the (very simple) techniques learned in this video. One of my biggest fears is that I will not be able to calm my baby. It is amazing to see screaming babies in this video turn to relaxed and quiet in a matter of seconds (literally!). The video is giving me the confidence I need to be able to tackle being a new mom.

I love Kellie Pickler's voice. This CD isn't the best I have ever heard but it is decent. It might be better to just download a couple songs from itunes so it is cheaper.

Best song in my opinion is, "Rocks Instead of Rice". Very funny song.

Boz Scaggs, with the sole exception of the incomparable Van Morrison, is our greatest singer today. This CD validates his artistic vision and accentuates his relaxed smooth style.

Not a filler nor throwaway cut on this release, each is a genuine treasure. It's all-but guaranteed that you'll start on the first track and listen to the end. Then begin the process once more. You cannot get fatigued. I flew coast-to-coast last week, listening to this CD through noise-canceling headphones non-stop.

The texture of Mr. Scaggs's voice, his immaculate phrasing, the superb band, and the spellbinding song selection proves something: Perfection is why we listen to music.

"Day After Tomorrow" is an excellent Baez disc IMHO! Her song selections continue to be powerful. Her voice, while weathered, remains expressive and powerful. Patty Griffin's "Mary" has a lovely melody that Baez embodies completely as she finds inspiration from the example of the mother of Jesus, "Every time the snow drifts, every time the sand shifts, even when the night lifts, she's always there." Eliza Gilkyson wrote two tracks that Baez recorded. "Rose of Sharon" was originally on Eliza's CD Redemption Road. Steve Earle's acoustic guitar compliments Baez's voice that brims with emotion, "Rise up my love & come away, the rain is over & gone, you are the fruit of my darkest day." Pretty slimey on the part of the record company rereleasing the 2007 version of the an album a year later with three new songs tacked onto the old version. Couldn't they come up with more than three new songs so they could release a new album? I already have the 2007 version...I'm not buying the 2008 version. What's next? Another three new songs for a 2009 re-rerelease?

and it won't die while Dion is around. Walk the Line and Dream Baby stand out because they are so unexpected, but all the tracks are given a freshness and vitality that makes them enjoyable all over again.
